| For someone to say they would never rehome their dogs is someone that is living in a fantasy world. In a realistic world, stuff happens. There are people saying they would never rehome their dogs that we will one day see on here with their sob story. it is one of the worst feelings ever to rehome a dog and people having to do it should not have to put up with cowards sending pm's and emails that don't have the guts to post on a message board. I detest pm's. I try to only use that feature when someone is inquiring about puppies or needs help and has asked me. i have had a few people I have back and forward with in pm's but it was because i was sent the pm first and was respinding. I hate pm's. If something is going on, on the board, don't pm me about it. |

....sorry I can't help you; but, I am currently looking to rehome my own dh and dd. I only have two pets; but, I think if I can find suitable homes for the family, I could swing another Yorkie .

| Never say Never. I highly doubt anyone here wants to rehome their dog.. but you have no idea what the future may hold. Things happen that are out of our control.. and you have no idea..what may be. I pray that never happens to me, but I could never say I would NEVER rehome my animals. People fall behind on payments, loose their homes. It happens..Look at Hurricane Katrina.. a lot of people had pets.. So think of all the could wouldas before you say.. NEVER.

Never say never my friend. Yes I had to re-home my baby Valentine. My heart was broken. I had her for five wonderful years, but then I had my first baby. The doctors told me our son could not be near any dogs at all as it would flare up his asthma. He was sick all the time, but we didn't know why. It was Valentine, my baby girl was making our son sick. I found a wonderful older lady who had just lost her husband. She asked me where I got Valentine from because she wanted one just like her. With tears in my eyes, I had her come over and pick up all of her toys, bed and dresses. We both cried, and she took Valentine home with her. She had a wonderful life, I am 100% sure of that. Mrs. Woods family called me to thank me for giving Valentine to their Mom. They called years later too, they wanted me to know Their Mom passed away, and a week later so did Valentine. They were happy they are together. That was over 21 years ago. Yes our son came first, if I had to do it again I would. There are times when we have too. Like I said, Never say Never.

If you are not part of the solution than you are part of the problem! I would hate to be in the situation where I would have to give part of my heart away, that kind of loss can never be easy, but if I were I would need support, not to be ridiculed.

| To those of you who are telling me to never say never - you don't know me. For all of you who say that it could happen, there are those of us that say it never will happen for us. If it's okay for you to say that things happen and there are times pets need to be rehomed, then it should be okay for me to say I would never do it in any situation. Everyone is different right? And for ME, I'm saying I would NOT ever do it. So please don't tell me to "never say never" because I am telling you that for ME it IS never. And when I say you don't know me - I am one of those people who feel that their pet is as important or more important than most people. Lacy is as good as any person to me - in fact I like her better than most people. The only people that would ever come before Lacy would be my immediate family. If I had to choose between the life of my dog and someone outside of my family or possibly close friends, I would choose my dog's life. I guess I'm one of those "crazy" animal people that feel that humans shouldn't always come before animals. So there is a glimpse into me and maybe that will help you all understand why I can truly say I would NEVER rehome my dog

I still think about Valentine and Mrs. Woods all the time, they will forever live in my heart. Their picture has been up on our wall for years, I'll leave it there forever. There are so many different reasons why people have to re-home their pets. I would not judge any of them. I do know If I had to do it again, I have some very special friends who would take Princess & Katie for me. Our son was on a machine for years because of his asthma. He had one here, at school and in the Van. We have been to the hospital so many times with him the van knew how to get there. As much as I love Valentine, my baby came first. I'm happy to say he's now a healthy young man in Med School.

| Mom to Marty & Maddie Donating Member | Lori, I am SO very sorry that someone has been rude and mean to one of your friends. That just breaks my heart. Why are people so judgmental?? Why is it so hard to be empathetic? What kind of life is that to live, constantly judging, never caring? As for rehoming, I'm sure none of us would EVER EVER want to rehome our pets. It would just tear my heart in two if I ever had to consider that option. But as others have said, this is life and things happen. None of us can see the future and plans don't always work out just the way we lay them out. It just isn't right to judge someone who has no other options or is doing what they feel is best for their dogs. And why, WHY, would someone be mean to another person when they are already hurting so badly? It just doesn't make sense to me! Hugs to you Lori and hugs to your friend. |

| I would never rehome my dogs, i just couldn't do it and i feel so very sorry for those that HAVE to and have NO OTHER option..it must be awful, but i'm not the sort of person who sits and judges others for their descisions, I don't know about their personal circumstances so i can't comment and can only give words of comfort.

Off the subject, but never say never. I have several PMs from you where a subject got heated and was locked and you initiated an exchange of PMs to continue the 'discussion.' I'm not passing it off as right or wrong, but don't criticize something you are guilty of doing yourself. That being said, it wasn't something that happened yesterday and is most certainly something I'm sure we're all guilty of having done before in the 'heat of the moment.' I happen to agree with you...I think many times people only PM and email what they don't have the courage to say outright for everyone to see.
