| ![]() I will never understand why people choose to rehome their pets for ANY reason. When you choose to bring a pet into your life, it should be FOREVER - not matter what happens. Yes, I'm sure there are some circumstances in which it is better for the pet to go to another home, but in most cases, it so so unfair to the pet to rehome it. It always angers me to see people rehoming their pets. I would NEVER EVER rehome Lacy for any reason. I know you say we don't know until we get in that situation, but I can tell you right now that I would NOT EVER rehome Lacy. She is my child and family and you don't just get rid of family when times get hard. I do know that it is hard for a lot of people to rehome their pets and that is why I've chosen not to post on those threads anymore - because I don't have anything positive to say to them. I have posted before that I didn't agree with what they are doing, but I've decided since then to not post on threads where someone is rehoming their pet anymore. Daisymae - I know who this thread is in reference to, and I did not post on her thread - because like I said, I don't agree with rehoming and wouldn't have had anything nice to say so I just didn't say anything. I certainly don't see the point in sending rude PMs to someone. So anyway, like I said - I won't say anything on those threads anymore. Those people have made their decision and nothing I would say would change it anyway. I just wish people would think before they take on a pet - and realize it should be forever. You say it's hard on that person to rehome their pet, but just think how hard it is on the poor pet...for them, you are their world and they LOVE and depend on you. I believe it's harder on the pet than the person rehoming them. I guess I just don't feel bad for the people rehoming - I feel bad for the PET

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | ![]() Lori, I agree! good post! Sometimes life takes unexpected turns and we always want what's best for our family and our dogs. We can't judge them. How do we know that's not gonna happen to us??? I hope not (please God!) but if it would? WOuld you like people to judge you and receive nasty emails???? I commend you for having the tact to not post in those threads. If you do not agree...then you do not have to agree. and you can choose to disagree quietly. The point I am trying to make...and I think a lot of others agree...is that there is NO reason to voice your opinion to that person, and make them feel bad for a decision THEY feel is necessary. in most cases, these people are extremely heartbroken and sad to make such a decision in the first place...the last thing they need is to have people that they consider to be friends or something of the sort...to make them feel bad. it's like when my granny died from lung cancer. the last thing anyone needed to say to me was "well, that's what you get for smoking your whole life". but someone said it. it was COMPLETELY un-called for. even if that is how you feel, you dont' have to say it. it's like kicking someone when they are down. you just shouldn't do it. just because someone feels a certain way...and they feel they are right about it...doesn't mean the whole world will agree. bottom line. that's what makes this such an interesting world. we are all different. so, again, thank you for not being hurtful. many agree with what you are saying...but it is just best if you don't kick people while they are down.

| ![]() If I ever (God forbid) have to rehome Adie this site would be my first attempt. I would be sure to find an owner that would love and cherish her as much as I do. How sad it would be for someone to start PM'ing me about what a rotten owner I am when I only want the best for my little one and can't provide it myself anymore! I would almost have to withdraw from YT and refuse any adoption offers. Criticizing an owner could be more harmful than letting it go. Why not try to help a person in need instead of putting them down? JMO |

Well, bully for you that you never found yourself in an impossible situation. Honey, you don't know how it rips your heart out to rehome a beloved pet. And all 3 of our dogs found wonderful, loving homes. They are happy, healthy and loved. I thank God every day for the sweet angels who took in our dogs. You don't need to feel sorry for any of them. (and I have the videos to prove it!) I could say alot more, but this is a family forum.

I just know that there have been times on here that I've seen people rehome or sell a dog because they had too many and then turn around get another one...or worse, breed them. (I'm not talking about breeders rehoming retired stock.) I've seen cases where people were down on their luck and telling sob stories about being financially strapped and couldn't make ends meet had to get rid of their dog, and then turn around and take on the finacial responsiblity of another one. ![]() THOSE instances...for the life of me I cannot understand.
