It was Valentine, my baby girl was making our son sick. I found a wonderful older lady who had just lost her husband. She asked me where I got Valentine from because she wanted one just like her. With tears in my eyes, I had her come over and pick up all of her toys, bed and dresses. We both cried, and she took Valentine home with her. She had a wonderful life, I am 100% sure of that. Mrs. Woods family called me to thank me for giving Valentine to their Mom. They called years later too, they wanted me to know Their Mom passed away, and a week later so did Valentine. They were happy they are together.

That was over 21 years ago. Yes our son came first, if I had to do it again I would. There are times when we have too. Like I said, Never say Never.
I personally don't agree with rehoming except in only ONE circumstance, and that is when it becomes life threatening to a family member that you can't leave (like your own kids). Other than that, I would NOT rehome. I tried to think of all scenarios where I might have to rehome and nothing else comes to mind. Like, if I was flat broke and lost my job and got kicked out of my house, I would move in with my parents and keep my pets. I would not date anyone allergic to my pets so I won't be forced to make that kind of decision... I would never move into a place that didn't allow pets. I would move out of a place before getting rid of my pets. I know everyone is different, but these are the things I think about BEFORE I brought any of my pets home.
