| Wow, you are full of helpful information! Maybe you should post a thread in Breeder talk or somewhere around there so others can benefit from all of this! I've definitely learned a thing or two!

| There are surely others out there that have imported puppies. I have probably done it the hard way. I know that when Murphy was shipped to LA, scrapindee and her husband told me that I did not need a broker, but then Dee's husband knew where customs was. I still had the paperwork sent ahead to Dee. I was able to get the process started before Murphy made it to cargo. Otherwise you have to wait until the puppy makes it to cargo to get the paperwork off their crate then go to customs, then back to cargo to release the puppy. Murphy made it to cargo about the same time I came back from getting him released from customs. (dog does not go to customs, only the paperwork does. but it has to go through the cargo office first.) |

| Personally, I wouldn't purchase a pup from further away than I could drive. There are just SO many scammers out there. ALso, even IF it's a totally reputable breeder, what happens if there's a mix up and you don't get the right dog... or the pup is sick when it arrives, or shortly after. (the stress of the shipping etc. could compromise it's immune system) You'd then have to go through the hassel of shipping the puppy back etc. Also, the more people you deal with, the greater the chance for error. The pup might get lost, somehow put on the wrong flight, left at the airport etc. etc. A lot of airlines are now either refusing "in cabin" pets, or putting greater restrictions on them. I'd be very nervous about not having any real control of what happens to the pup in the time that it leaves it's destination and the time that it reaches your care. But... that's just me and I'm VERY good at worrying. |

There are many more Biewers available now in the US, so it will be easier to find what I need here. I have even talked to other breeders about trading puppies.

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | Sounds like you've made your decision to import using a specific breeder. Good luck and post pictures for all of us here. |

At any rate, I wish you the best of luck in finding whatever dog/puppy pulls your heartstrings.......when you're ready to make that jump. I'd love to hear more of your search, research, and success,.... and of course would love to see photos of your new baby when he/she arrives.
