Personally, I wouldn't purchase a pup from further away than I could drive. There are just SO many scammers out there. ALso, even IF it's a totally reputable breeder, what happens if there's a mix up and you don't get the right dog... or the pup is sick when it arrives, or shortly after. (the stress of the shipping etc. could compromise it's immune system) You'd then have to go through the hassel of shipping the puppy back etc.
Also, the more people you deal with, the greater the chance for error. The pup might get lost, somehow put on the wrong flight, left at the airport etc. etc.
A lot of airlines are now either refusing "in cabin" pets, or putting greater restrictions on them.
I'd be very nervous about not having any real control of what happens to the pup in the time that it leaves it's destination and the time that it reaches your care.
But... that's just me and I'm VERY good at worrying.
