| ![]() He migjht like a smaller closed in crate. It might give him a better sense of security, more like a den. The like to be able to sleep wsith their backs to a wall. \ Mine sleep in the plastic travel crates. I think they are warmer then the wire crates too. Have you thought about getting a second yorkie? |

And really, I don't ever want another dog like Thor (because his temperment has been so bad) so... ...But i've always wanted a girl! I've tried a smaller crate and he hated it! Do you think I should get a smaller one and try again? The one we have it 43x23x31. |

| ![]() We don't allow Dixie or Sasha to sleep with us. They aren't housebroke yet...and I know they would have an accident. They sleep in the living room. Sasha barks if she hears a mouse move ![]()

No Longer a Member | ![]() Definitely get a smaller crate. If it is that large, they'll be tempted to soil it because there is enough room for them to have sleeping space and potty space in the same crate. Chloe has the small petmate 19Lx12wx10h, but we'll be moving up to the medium (23x15x11) probably in a month or so, and that will be the biggest she ever needs. They only need to have enough room to comfortably turn around--anything more than that is too much. |

| ![]() Ajah sleeps in her crate in the living room. She's not allowed in the bedrooms. This is the only house rule she really has. The crate is used for for sleeping and she understands that's her bed at night. She has 2 other beds around the place for lying around during the day. But nope not in Mommy & Daddy's bed. She is a part of the family but at the same time she's still a dog we have to make sure she knows who the pack leader is and don't want to do anything to comprise that. Besides Mommy & Daddy's bed is too high even for doggie stairs and how hurt I would be if she fell accidently. |

| ![]() Some of mine sleep in my computer room in their crates (and they are fine with this), its right next to my bedroom. Tiffany sleeps in her favorite bed right next to my bed, Cash (my shepherd) sleeps wherever he chooses. However I do block off the living room when we go out or when we go to bed so Cash cannot sleep on the furniture. He mostly sleeps on his bed in the bedroom. Isabelle (my cat) I dont think she sleeps at night lol I give Tiffany the option to sleep in bed with us but she prefers her bed

Donating YT 30K Club Member | ![]() My 10 year old Pom never wanted to sleep with me, so she sleeps under the bed. I thought I missed having a yorkie sleep with me but it wasn;t too bad when I got Cali as she slept mostly in the little cubby hole on my head board bit when I got Pixie 2 weeks ago she screamed in the playpen so I gav in and now Cali sleeps on oneside and Pixie the other side of me and I can't sleep well. But I don;t think I can kick them out.

Even with the potty issue not a problem, the smaller ones are still cozier and they feel more secure. When they are smaller--like someone mentioned they like to have a wall behind them--it gives a feeling of being in a safe cove and they can relax. Chloe even goes in it when I'm vacuuming or something that scares her, since she sees it as a comfort /safe spot. I don't remember where I read it (one of my yorkie/puppy books) it said to get the smallest size that they can still turn around in. | |

| ![]() My Sushi started out sleeping in her crate until she was pad trained. I then put her in bed with me for a while( which she loved) but sometimes when I woke up she would be out of the bed & I became worried she might get hurt jumping out of the bed. So I started putting her in her crate again. Now every night she goes to her crate on her own & is content. I no longer close her in because its not necessary. I know she would probably rather be in bed with me but she is safer on the ground. |

| ![]() I've been letting them sleep in the bed w/me.. but they've been making it really hard for my fiancee to get good sleep and my allergies have also been flaring up so I think it's back to the XPEN in the dining room for them. I'm getting them a nex big extra comfy bed and blankey so they can all snuggle up in there and I really think they'll be fine.. it'll be "mommy" that misses them! ![]() |
