Then he may not have the potty problem with it. The thing with it is, even if they are potty trained, if you leave them for several hours, if they have to go, if there was room to potty and not lay in it, then they may not hold it, but when it there is no choice but to lay in it if it happens, they try harder to hold it.
Even with the potty issue not a problem, the smaller ones are still cozier and they feel more secure. When they are smaller--like someone mentioned they like to have a wall behind them--it gives a feeling of being in a safe cove and they can relax. Chloe even goes in it when I'm vacuuming or something that scares her, since she sees it as a comfort /safe spot. I don't remember where I read it (one of my yorkie/puppy books) it said to get the smallest size that they can still turn around in.
