| LOL I so was going to post that! LOL Peach is about 90% trained - twice she has had an accident on the floor...both times because she refused to go when it is raining...she just sits there and shakes. I thought the umbrella was scarring her, but I think it is just the rain. The past few days I have been putting a green towel on the grass and putting her on that instead of the grass and she will go. But I am affraid she will go on any green towel she sees now! And since we go out every 1-2 hours...the laundry adds up Hope that helps I will be interested to see others replies...

| He gets wet? He's super fast! Sometimes I throw a shirt/sweatshirt on him and take it off when he comes in. We used to keep towels by the door but he's so efficient now he barely gets wet. He's good about getting his paws wiped but it's usually only necessary if he steps in mud, mulch or a puddle. Loki doesn't care about the rain, he tries to lick the water. He does not like the wind but he tolerates it to potty - he won't go on a walk when it's windy though. Really, it's no big deal.

| In the begining when we were first training Millie she did not like the rain either and resisted. Even though we have a fenced in area, we went out with her on a leash and us with our umbrellas. Millie really resisted going potty, but we would give the potty command, repeatively, and not leave until she had gone. (sometimes we were out in the rain for 10-15 minutes) However inconvenient that was for me, my husband, and Millie, I am glad we forced the issue, because she will potty in the rain now. She will hurry up now and it will not take long at all. She knows what is expected of her and that she stays out there until her business is done, so she is quick about it. As Rem&SilkMom says, we try to time her going out before the big down pour and during a time the rain has "let up" so we minimize the wet factor. But since she is 1 year old now, she does not have to go potty as frequently and there are greater periods of time between potty breaks. |

| Oh forgot to say that Millie never had an accident in the house when it was raining, because we never left the decision up to her to go out or not. We told her she had to go out and went out with her, period! |

| Thanks everyone for your input. I've been trying to train Napoleon (5months old) to go outside and he's been pretty good. Florida has had a bit of a dry period so that means no rain.. until yesterday when it rained.. not hard.. light rain, but I was afraid he wouldn't like getting wet and cold so I didn't force him to go out. But from now on, I will take him outside, regardless if it rains or not (unless it's a hurricane LOL). He just needs to get used to it!

| Rain or snow never really seemed to phase mine, he would poke along like every other day.. If Its pouring down rain, I tried to keep the umbrella over him,and he would be a little quicker. But now I have a fenced yard, and I notice him under the porch when it's raining, but he'll go out and do his business. Good Luck.

| Rocky goes out rain or shine. If I know it is going to storm, he goes out before the it starts raining to hard. Rocky is not to thrilled about rain, so he does his business pretty quick. |

| I'm from New Hampshire and we've experienced flooding over the last several days because of all the rain we've had. I still made my little one go out because i don't want her to regress with outside potty training. It meant lots of time spent in the pouring rain with a golf umbrella hovering over her! She quickly learned that she wouldn't be let in until she had done her thing. By the end of the rains she was an expert at going quickly!! Rain or shine she has to go out to do her thing... |

| I wish I had a well desciplined one like you all do. Lily will sneak off into someones bed room and go. How do I get her to stop that?

| I either grab the umbrella and out we go, or (our yards fenced in) open the door and let her run out. When its cold and raining hard, she's pretty quick about it. But in a light rain, or even warm rain, she doesn't seemed phased, and takes her good sweet time. (Of course, there's always the "go potty" command if I'm feeling impatient. ) I just have to keep towels by the door to dry her off before she touches the carpet! I've always had dogs (as a kid we had schnauzers), and I could never imagine NOT training them to go outside. Don't even begin with newspapers or potty pads with a pup...it's outside from the very start. Therefore, I'm amazed (in a good way) by those of you who've trained your dogs to go inside...never met anyone firsthand, or been to anyones home that does that...what are the advantages? Disadvantages? And seriously, my cat's littler box needs cleaned daily...and most dog owners don't use litter. What about odor? |

| They either pee right outside by the door or we get the umbrella out!!!! It is really funny that they don't want to get wet. |
