I either grab the umbrella and out we go, or (our yards fenced in) open the door and let her run out.

When its cold and raining hard, she's pretty quick about it. But in a light rain, or even warm rain, she doesn't seemed phased, and takes her good sweet time. (Of course, there's always the "go potty" command if I'm feeling impatient. ) I just have to keep towels by the door to dry her off before she touches the carpet!

I've always had dogs (as a kid we had schnauzers), and I could never imagine NOT training them to go outside. Don't even begin with newspapers or potty pads with a pup...it's outside from the very start.

Therefore, I'm amazed (in a good way) by those of you who've trained your dogs to go inside...never met anyone firsthand, or been to anyones home that does that...what are the advantages? Disadvantages? And seriously, my cat's littler box needs cleaned daily...and most dog owners don't use litter. What about odor?
