That is exactly the point I was trying to make. it is just wrong for anyone to say All show breeders do this or don't do that. Only someone with limited knowledge would say things like that and lump everyone in the same category. I am done and again, i love your little ones and am so sorry the male I had my eye on is sold already.

I thought that responsible ethical breeders bred to improve the breed and only bred towards the AKC standard.?? I dont believe the AKC standard says anything about chocolates, parties, white. I have been "in" Yorkies over 25 years and none of the AKC papers ever had 21 colors to choose from. Maybe you are talking about the 1800s?? I would love to have a copy so I could put it in my scrap-book.LOL So, evidentally, ALL of the puppies you produce are breeder quality and sold on full registration, hence the big prices on them. So, if you did sell them with limited registration, would your prices be the same and could you sell them as fast?? Most "show" breeders that I know dont sell their best representatives of the breed for the price you ask. Maybe the words "tiny", "chocolate", "full registration" and "100 champions in pedigree" do the trick. Wonder how many generations that pedigree is? Well, that jsut my opinion. And to the person who said this thread is 15 pages, are you the thread police??

No I am not a breeder. I highly doubt I will ever be a breeder, but I have always been interested in showing either Himalayan cats or Yorkies. It takes so much research and work to know what you are doing though so I'll most likely leave the showing to those that already know what they are doing. I think it's important to show your dogs in conformation (or at least have them evaluated by other show breeders or judges) so that you know you're producing quality dogs. I would only breed to the standard, and I would health-screen all the dogs before I bred them. I think optimally, breeding and showing should go hand in hand.

Wow - I'd like to hear all those colors. I have NEVER heard of even close to that many colors for a yorkshire terrier.
