| ![]() this is animal abuse IMO and if i knew where to find her i would turn her in so fast. i know in what area she lives though. SHAME on her!! that is the most cruel thing i've heard in a long while. and what reason would she have for removing it unless she has stolen that dog or is doing something wrong that she doesn't want the breeder to know about ![]() |

| ![]() tatooing is not painful...had many, many done. They do not go as deep as a human tat...mine would lay on ther backs, I held the front legs and talked to them..over is seconds...a good tatooer does not take for then a minute. Chipping is a good thing, but the bore size of the needle is big and it is a bit more painful then a tat... |

![]() i can only imagine there was another (horrible) reason for her removing it- 'i could feel it on his back' and 'it Could give him cancer' just doesn't cut it. she bought from a commercial breeder- who i cant see having limited registrations (we obviously don't Know, and 816tuesday has gone quiet for some bizarre reason) so why on earth! Imo- slicing open you dogs back(after having to restrain it somehow) and hoking out a chip is more than abuse- its torture! yorkierose (and other pro tattooers)- i doubt my vet has done many tats (if any) so i would obviously need to go elsewhere, but with microchips being the main (by far) permanent ident here- with tattoos being quite a new concept, if you were me, would you consider it? i obviously want to ensure Dexx will be with me the rest of his life, but i'd be better leaving the tat wouldn't i- or should i look into it anyway and see if i can find a vet good enough? if they aren't overly experienced it would hurt a lot more wouldn't it?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ![]() I can't imagine ANYONE taking out a microchip on their own unless they had something to hide. COMMON SENSE (which really isn't common) would tell you that opening up tissue under less than sterile conditions leaves a pup open to the risk of scarring and infection that could lead to sepsis and death. Seems like pretty high price to pay to avoid feeling a little bump. All of my dogs have been microchipped. We've never had a problem with any of the dogs. In fact, we can't even feel them because they were properly placed by the vet. They were all chipped at the same time they were spayed/neutered so they didn't even feel the insertion.

![]() The breeder had it implanted by her vet and gave me the registration papers. It was all done on-line and when we moved I just updated my account on-line with our new address and phone number. It is called HomeAgain and since I didn't choose the company I don't know anything about it other than it is super easy to keep my info current, which is going to be critical if I ever lose my dog somehow.

I have HomeAgain as well. When Lil Bit was microchipped the vet was using AVID, but when we took Beamer in the vet had changed to HomeAgain. I am so glad they are microchipped.

And I am sure that a vet would really believe a microchip "fell out" ![]()

It is animal abuse and needs to be investigated.

Completely agree Mary. Realized after I posted that when she posted her first post she already had the female which was 6 months old.

Now if she did indeed remove that microchip for whatever reason....well that is animal abuse and if there is any possible way to prove it....she should be turned in.
