Oh gosh Pat! You sound like you are always so calm and collected! I wish you lived next door to me! Or if not, can you send some of that calm and cool to me? I get so nervous and the more I learn, the more nervous I get. Now I have to add, swallowing a puppy to the list!

....ppl came on here took every thing i said wrong and nobody knows me and evryone just assumed i did this or i didn't do this without even asking me yes i checked with the vet and the sire about the back ground because of what i went threw with my first yorkie daisy having to put her down at 11wks cause she' was born with fluid around her brain..i didn't do it for the experience and ppl are saying i'm stupid to breed cause i want an off spring which i don't think is stupid cause my girl chloe is beautiful and the sire is and i know the background and this is the only time i'm doing it..yes i'm quite aware of the yorkies because of daisy i came on here to meet other yorkie ppl and some ppl have gave me wonderful advice and i gladly accepted but some ppl assumed something that was way off base and totally wrong cause nobody knows me..

OK, so you think people have made false "assumptions." So clear the air.

You say you have researched breeding and repeatedly say you've done so on the internet and reading books. So clear up the assumptions: Do you have a breeding mentor, of Yorkies, that you are working with? How many litters have you assisted whelping in preparation for your own?

You say you have experience. How many litters have you had? Were they Yorkies?

What health screenings did you have done on her prior to breeding? What about the stud?

I have a feeling that your view of what is 'proper research' and 'ethical breeding' may not be the same as that of everyone else.

...i have a female siberian husky kacie and i bred her once and kept a male and got them both fixed i understand huskys are bigger but i did the whelping thing with her and i talked to my vet and they have told me what to do..that's why i joined on here to learned about the yorkies and what to expect not to get bash ppl are taking my words wrong when ppl don't know me and are taking everything i say wrong...maybe i type to fast and the words aren't coming out wrong but i get very stressed out what ppl are saying on here and i don't need this in my life

The only thing you have to offer regarding your experience and preparation is that "you bred your husky once." Seems like everyone was well justified in their concerns and statements.

Believe me, I have had some freak out moments...!! I watched a whelping tape Bobbie Rothenbach did many years ago...she wasn't too calm herself when a very large pup would not come out...tape was edited and next thing you saw was a "born" pup..
I am like a doctor with anyone elses litter...hard to be that way with my own "children"...LOL

...the father is akc and ckc registered and i have seen his papers and his background also carol has been breeding yorkies for many yrs and has been helping along and we also deal with the same vet and her dog had all of the test done hips,eyes etc as my yorkie did when she was younger cause of the bad experience i had with the first one no i have never bred a yorkie before that's why i came on here for advice along with a well know breeder in my area and my vets and my yorkie is going to be beside me in her whelping box in case she has them in the night..and yes i am prepared for the cost if anything goes wrong but praying it doesn't i was scared because of the horror stories and is why i joined here to get advice not bashed and to calm my nerves not peak them in overdrive..

How about this advice offerred by the original poster. Telling someone to breed unethically. To go against the request of the breeder and breed the dog. Not having a clue as to why breeders request a dog not to be bred.

if he's not registered then i don't see a problem some breeders don't want you breeding cause they want to keep the same line or something but check out to see if there's any health problems in the background and if not i would say she should of made a contract up saying that and if there wasn't one made up then gl go for it

But then of course breeding your own dog for the experience and because the wanted another pup so why not get one out of her (her female yorkie).

I don't think you're going to get any answers to any of your questions. Just talking to a vet and them telling you that your dog is ok to breed, is definately a good reason for someone to proceed with a breeding...........pleazzzzzzzzzz

I am just the opposite. I am very calm with my own litters it's just anyone else's I get nervous about.
