hey you i might take her in for an exam but for an ultrasound i think it's costly over her in canada where r you...yes she looks forward to her belly rubs she's finding it hard to jump up on the bed with me so i lift her i try to lift her down but i don't see her when she sneaks down..but she lays either on my lap or onthe floor a lot in the sunshine...keep me posted after you take her to the vet calling mine now to see how much it costs thanks

I think your "might" take her in, should be a must. Please do so, not only to find out if she is pregnant but to help to assess both her health and her pups health.

Hey I am located in NC and the prices here vary for an ultrasound. We are just planning on the examination and palpation but I did price the ultrasound just in case. The ultrasound will run around $110-200.00! So hopefully all will go well with just the exam.

yes i am taking chloe in either tomorrow or next wk i checked her with the ultrasound and they told me 81.00 they don't charge me for the exam cause they'll see what's going on with the ultra sound i check with my old vet and they told me 225.00 plus 5% tax so i'm staying with the new 1..will let you know thanks

has anyone ever had an ultra sound done on a pregnant yorkie..my yorkie is 6wks pregnant i heard x-rays r better but they are costly where an ultra sound is cheaper...can you tell with an ultrasound how many pups she's going to have i pulled it up on the computer and didn't show much just wondering if anyone that had it done and what's it like..should i get 1 done some ppl say i'm throwing my money away and some say get it done........

also note to diamonds dad did you go to the vet on june 1 and how did it go did you get an ultrasound...thanks

Hey Sasha yes Diamond went to the vet on Tuesday and my vey just did a regular visit and palpated her. There were 3 definite pups and possibly a 4th 1. We did not doa ultrasound bc they can't do a count with that, it just would've confirmed the pregnancy as well but we can do an xray around the 19th (that is bc it takes 45 days before the bones have calcified and will show up on xrays after 45 days of pregnancy in the mom)to get an accurate count and measure to ensure that she can free birth the pups.

Hey Sasha just reading back over your last post about the xray cost. The xray should be alot less than the ultrasound, I know it is here in NC. My vet charges any where from $110-240 for ultrasound and the xray is $41.00. So I would definitely ask about the price of the xray, bc the xray will give you a accurate count and should be able to measure to ensure that your lil ones can pass thru moms pelvis.

hey diamonds's dad i checked with my new vet cause my old vet is retiring and i don't like the new vet plus i find them way more expensive...over here in ontario,canada the ultrasound is cheaper it's on 81.00 that's with the tax they don't charge me for the visit..i checked just now to see what an x-ray would cost and they said 141.00 with the tax...they don't do the palpate cause the ultrasound is better so i think i'm going with the ultrasound next thrus or friday...so will let you know...the funny thing is i want to keep a girl if she has 1 so i was thinking of some names i mentioned the 1 i like sadie,my 10yr old daughter said bella, then we said coco and diamond 5x when i said those names and mixed them up when i said diamond clhoe got so excited and started licking my face...she likes that name so we'll have to see lol keep me posted new friend

hey diamonds dad i borrowed a stethscope from a friend and finally heard the heartbeats last night...now that debbie jensen says if you get a fast heartbeat it's a boy and a girl is slow don't know if this is true..but i thought i heard 2 fast and 1 slow..i took her to the vet for an x-ray today they just charged me for the x-ray and not the visit so 140.00 is not bad i wanted an ultrasound but her being 7wks would be hard to tell how many pups where an x-ray is better and yes she has 3 pups in there so 2 more wks to go to find out if i'm right..let me know if you get 1 on diamond next wk and how many keep in touch and gl..

hi everyone chloe is going on her 8wks pregnant listened again to the little heartbeats with a stethscope which is neat..when i was done i thought i saw 2 little paws come out in her stomach and they moved so that was something to see another wk can't wait to the 3 little ones are here..

JMHO, but not wanting to pay the costs for getting an expecting dog the proper care and tests she needs should not even be a consideration. Breeding ain't cheap, didn't you know? Can't get your dog less than adequate care just because you don't want to pay a steep vet bill.

It's just your opinion Bama, but what should be done to insure that your girl and her pups are being given the best of care. Heaven forbid a C-section or a like emergency transpires with the whelp......that will be much more costly and you don't have the option of deciding whether or not you're going to have it done because it's too expensive. It'll have to be done or lose your girl and/or the litter.

....i don't know who your referring to if it's me my dogs get the proper care my yorkie had an x-ray and i know breeding isn't cheap and i have paid a steep vet bill for a siberian husky that i nearly lost so when it comes to my animals i take better care of them then i do myself...i did it to keep a pup not for the money...i heard of ppl being negative on here but i guess seeing is believing...so not sure who your talking about..
