Would I do a csection on my own dog? No that is foolish and I have no experience here as that is a full surgery. However clamping and doing there tails was no problem at all. Bloodless of course...can you stomach that? Go look at the dew claws on my web page. They are remove and pictures there of the claws. It helps to learn and continue learning as I move on in life...

However, there was a person on here once who said they would do a c section for 50 bucks (if I remember correctly).

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | I just think it's important to remember that many groups would like to see breeding rights done away with, and if there is any chance something could go wrong with this type of procedure, it might be best to privately PM the person, so that you know exactly if the person has understood the proper procedure. I've read so many times that the dewclaws have grown back, so I know the procedure isn't foolproof. Also, if they have to have the dewclaws removed as an adult it's much more serious. There have also been numerous threads of dogs ripping off dewclaws after they got snagged on something, again, this could be dangerous, and very painful. So, unless a person does it right, the dewclaw has a very good chance of causing later problems, although I'm not sure some breeders care about this.

All this could have been avoided if they were removed when he was a puppy. for some reason the breeder left the back dew claws and only did the front claws.

| There are people who are not suited for breeding and it is good they do not breed..and frankly I do not feel a non=breeder should offer an opinion on these subjects...I realize it is a free country and all can express opinions..but I do not express opinions on a subject I know nothing about.. |

Dew claws and tails are as easy to remove as nail clipping. Remember I'm the one who sued my vet so I think I know what I'm doing. Don't need the thoughts of others to try and discourage. Hope the OP has enough information from those who have done this before. Hope that video helps you as it helped me.

| I watched video.....and as an exhibitor breeder found fault with it. I've never had a pup cry as much as this one. A squeek maybe, but if doing it correctly, this does not happen. Also, giving faulty information of cutting the tail at the brown spot is incorrect, you are docking the tail too short. Removing dew claws, my pups don't even squeek. There are subelties that one learns when being taught by a vet and a mentor, that keeps the stress to a minimum.
