| well Steve feels he is over his head and drowning quickly after losing another one...I offered for him to bring them to me (three surviving) it would have been a 7 hour drive to my house, so I had him call Joeysmom "Deb" she just got them and is getting them settled with the mom...Deb is only 1 1/2 hours away from Steve...this is a real group effort keeping these little ones alive...wish us luck!!

| This is why I love yorkie talk. Kimberly, you are amazing and I commend you for all of the help you and JoeysMom have given Steve. It gives me great comfort in feeling like if I ever needed help for an expert, there are wonderful people like you who are willing to go the extra mile to help. Steve, you have done an amazing job and I know you feel bad. Please don't... it happens. I know from experience. I wish you luck with the remaining babies. You are truly dedicated to your mom and babies.

| Kimberly is amazing, for someone that has her status in the "showing and breeding world" she is always willing to help out anyone, and doesn't make them feel bad about anything. It takes a great and caring person to be such a good hearted person, it just shows everyone how much she cares for all puppies. I am so sorry about the little ones that were lost, but praying for the rest.

| I just got back home from dropping the puppies off, although this sounds horrible I believe it was the best like Kim said. I was in over my head and this forum did something truly amazing and hardly seen in this world today. A true act of kindness! A blessing! This opportunity is priceless and the people that have come forward with any kind of help are absolutely wonderful...Ya'll are a Godsend. Kim I can honestly say I have never talked to someone that doesn't judge, and honestly I can't thank you enough. Deb and Kim I will find a way to repay you for all your efforts. I am thankful...very thankful. We will miss our precious Daisy and the three musketeers very much, but we do know they are in good well deserving hands. I cannot say thank you enough. God Bless Steven & Natasha & Beckham |

It is so sweet and nice that U had someone that could be there to help U and within U're living distance. It's not horrible that U did what U could to save U're babies, this is something U should be proud of by going that extra to help save U're babies! As far as U're help, this is very special that others would reach out to U and U're dolls and help so much and that U all would take the helping hand. This is what breeding is about also, to help others out here that need it. As far as U're Musketeers (By the way I named my Daughter "D'Artagnan" after the elder Musketeer & I love that name) they will be in good hands and well be praying that make it through. Hugs and many prayers

You & Deb are an inspiration to us new to Breeding!!! This is truly what Breeders should be doing is helping and not downing, me myself too!!! I've got upset at new comers here and should of kept my mouth/hands SHUT!!! I have learned a valuable lesson here with this thread! I am one who is quick to judge and this should not be! I do admit when I'm in the wrong and I am very much in the wrong by doing this! I will from now on offer help (Not that I'm a very experienced Breeder here like some of U.) and not be one to down others. I hope one day I may be of help to someone out there like you two have been! Now I just wish others would come forward and get the help they may need even if it means allowing other breeders to take their babies in order to see them live. Thanks so much to ALL of U here for my VALUABLE LESSON!!!

| Barely....haha Okay, i'm sure everyone wants to know how the night went. I think we passed with flying colors. All three puppies are still alive and now kicking. When the little family arrived, we got the pen all set up in a quiet part of the house...my daughter offered up her bedroom...After Steve left, I inspected the puppies... I thought they seemed lethargic and i checked for dehydration, as Kimberly had told me to do. They were def. dehydrated. And now looking at the contrast of them this a.m. vs. on their arrival, i wonder if they weren't at death's door. I'm so thankful for their sakes that Steve made the call that he did, as hard as I'm sure it was. He was very emotional about leaving them, but he felt it was best. i started trying to get a hold of K right away to get help with the dehydration, all the while reading in my Myra Savant... puppy intensive care book. Fortunately, K called me back and guided my DEAR husband through subcutaneal rehydration (is that what it's called?) I'm needle phobic and we've talked about him helping with any "needle situations' with our animals, and he had agreed. He was nervous, but willing. I think it probably saved them. I began syringe feeding them a half hour later. K called back and found out they took the formula and sounded tickled, according to my dd. So my Darling 17 year old girl got up with me all night, every 1 1/2 hrs. and we partnered to get them fed. The first feeding puppy blue and puppy orange did great....not so puppy purple. He ate, but kind of slowly and weakly. By this morning's feeding even he is doing better, though not as vigorous as the other two. All three are now getting round tummies after feeding, and cry when mommy leaves, and paw while eating. The first two are sucking HARD...so i'm hoping we can get at least those two to latch on today. Daisy is a dream girl....she's very sweet and calm, and tries to be a good mom i think. She licks them alot, and curls around them. it looks like she's encouraging them to nurse, but they try and haven't been able to latch tightly. Maybe today. Any hints? This is all new to me too, though i've been researching and reading and following posts for 2 years. I need to feed again at 8. Kim, I will call you after that feeding. Should I weigh them before or after the feeding? Oh... Their weights 10:25 pm Orange 94 g Purple 90 g Blue 88g Blue is actually the most vigorous, so i'm thinking his weight will be up this am keep praying for me to do a good job and keep these sweeties going. Again, Kimberly is an AMAZING help, available at the drop of a hat. deb |

| I am so glad the puppies are doing better. Steve, I am an experienced breeder (somewhat0 and I just two weeks ago went thru this and ended up losing two of my five. You should not feel bad at all. You have done everything you knew to do andd asked for help. Maybe you can get some sleep now while Deb has the puppies. They are in good hands. I went three days without ever taking my clothes off or showering or anything with mine. I was syringe feeding every hour. Now, two weeks later, the remaining three are a success story. They are eating well and gaining fast. I think these are the biggest puppies I have ever had, but it has taken time to get there and I almost lost my mama dog twice the day of her C-section from sseizures and the days right before it, she couldn't even get up or walk. Just laid and rattled in her breathing. I had to finally take her in and get the babies out. Mine are about a week behind in development but the way they are gaining, they will bee just fine. You are an amazing person and it has been a pleasure to help you. Keep us updated. |

| thanks for the encouragement. I tried what Kim told me, to get a latch, but no luck on this feeding. So I will be doing the syringe for this feeding. We expressed milk, but you know, it didn't squirt like Kim thought it would. Is she already dryingup, or is the milk not there yet? She refused the whelping pudding, but at a tablespoon or so of the canned Wellness Puppy that I warmed up for her. She looks like she has milk, her teats are puffy...but yellowish milk just oozed out. We got a couple of squirts out of maybe two teats. (Kim told us to express some milk to keep her making milk). Any other ideas I will truly appreciate. I don't relish the thought of having to bottle feed through their infancy. But if I have to, I have to!!! deb |
