| I'm sorry about the loss of your baby! I know you must be exhausted! You're doing a great job!! You have a good, dedicated Vet. I saved and fed a cleft pallet baby and it is a lot of work! A lot of Vets would have suggested putting it down. If you can get them through day 3, you should be OK. I agree don't worry about the tails until they are stronger and bigger. Be careful and don't tube feed too long, it can wear out the esophagus. I syringe feed when possible, maybe after you get them gaining. Your Mom should be able to take care of them once they are over the hump. Just wanted to let you know we were thinking of you! Hoping all goes well in the days to come! |

| I just wanted to see how U and U're babies are coming along. I hope all is good and U got a little nap. I know it's hard staying up day and night. I'm sorry for U're loss. U're in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs |

| Thanks all, we lost the tiniest one last night. Kim has be very helpful and I talked to her again last night. I made the mom a vanilla pudding mix with 4 yolks as suggested by Kim. We are doing the best we can, and it has been devistating so far. I have much respect for breeders and apologize as I am ashamed for losing 2 of the puppies. The vet was nothing but help and if I don't see any gains today I am going to take them back up there. |

| So sorry you lost another pup. Just know you are doing all you can. I know how hard this is. I hand raised one of my pups for 23 days with an eye dropper, just letting him suck it out on his own and now he is strong and beautiful. I know this is very emotional and draining on you, there will be light at the end of the tunnel. You are in excellent hands with Kimberly, she is a godsend. |

A lot of people think Yorkie Breeders are just trying to be mean or that we are know it alls, which is so untrue, what has happened to U is just one of the many reasons we try to beg people to please understand what U're getting U're self into. (Not downing U or nothing, u did VERY RIGHT by asking all the questions and accepting all the help others has given to U here, this is what U should be proud of U are doing the best U can do and learning from U're experience.) Breeding can be heartbreaking and it is not easy as a lot of people think. I hope others that are thinking about Breeding will reconsider their thoughts on Breeding Yorkies. Or those out there that maybe in U're shoes will try to learn from what U've been through and take all the advice here that is given. U have nothing to be ashamed of as far as loosing U're 2 babies, some things are out of our control. I'm very very PROUD of U for all U've done to help U're babies! Keep up the good work!!!

| I just spoke with Steve, he is beginning to see a slight weight gain in the 4 remaining and mom is in full milk so he shouldnt have to suppliment much longer. The vet he is seeing offered to take the cleft baby, raising it and doing the needed surgery which I was thrilled that little one too will have a fighting chance!

Yes we just spoke with the vet, Jan, that has taken the cleft pallate one under her wing. She says its doing great! So some good news, as Kim said the pups are gaining. I have just been doing Daisy's meals and laying in our bed beside them. I will try to keep posting.

| It takes courage to keep fighting so hard in the face of adversity. We really admire your efforts. Even my husband shed a little tear for the loss of your babies. Keep your spirits up, you are doing great work here and we all wish you the best. We'll be watching for updates. I hope you have the energy to keep us included with your posts. By the way... you have a GREAT vet. Applause to all of you.

| I will try and keep up the energy. I have shed many of tears over this. One of the little ones had yellow a bright yellow stool that came out in tiny little pellets it looked a little odd? Also Daisy seems to be sitting on the pups a lot now since we made that vet visit yesterday, I almost feel like she is squishing them because they whine. We finally found a heating pad that doesn't auto shut off, we've been getting 0 hrs of sleep at night in order to keep the other one on. Last edited by lowviscosity; 03-29-2008 at 12:05 PM. |
