| Oh, and I wanted to say thank you to all the encouragement... I've been on here many times reading other peoples' sagas and urgent situations. I never thought I'd be in the center of one! When I first started reading Steve's posts, I didn't think I would be a part of helping save these puppies...without Kimberly, it would NEVER have happened. She's a good teacher! deb |

| Deb, I know you mentioned that you had cottage cheese, did you try mixing this in with some of the Canin? I normally would mix the Cesar Wet Food and she did fine with that the first day then she stopped eating the wet/dry mix. Kim said that I should try the wet/dry mix first and see if she eats, then after she eats that give her the pudding. Since the pudding is such a treat she might just be waiting for that each time. Also there are those little Beneful wet foods with rice and such in them, maybe try one of those for the day and see how she likes it. She's normally a good eater I think these puppies just threw her off. How is she doing on liquids? I guess as long as she keeps urinating she is getting enough liquids into her body. Sorry about the inside mess, she normally does it outside. |

| I'll try those things...thanks, Steve. She's doing much better on her liquids. She's def. going pee. And she did try to do her poops outside...she just didn't make it in time. It was the first day she was here, and she was probably a little stressed. I'll keep you posted on her eating. It's almost time to check the pups again... deb |

deb, I use Cesear's puppy for my girls. What I do is set the dry kibble down in the x-pen and leave it. that is puppy also. But, four times a day, i give them one fourth can of Cesears. the first meal of the day is mixed with a spoon of cottage cheese. no dry, the next two meals are just the wet food unless I mix just a few kibbles in the third meal. the fourth meal right before bedtime is cesear's with a heaping up tablespoon of whelping pudding mixed in. i space these meals out every four hours. generally on about the third or fourth day, they start eating out of the dish of dry that is down all the time. | |

| I had to hand feed Coco the first day or two. I mixed canned food with kibble and took it clump by clump until she ate a little. She didn't want to disappoint me i think, so she ate a little if I held it for her. Keep trying....

Its so much work and very hard to save these tiny puppies. Several.... Dee lost puppies and somebody else (sorry forget name) angels human mama tried so hard . I dont blame deb for being needle shy. I had to do the sub'Q with a 3 month old puppy. It was horrible with a big syringe. I felt I was always hurting the poor puppy. But to even try it on a newborn then half the time the fluid squirted back out. Even after pinching it for several seconds.I had taken her to an emergency vet. When I took her to my vet she said the needle was wayyyy to big for that poor little puppy. Keep up the good work all...This is just amazing! You are doing GREAT Deb !!!!

| Debbi I use the smaller needle on the newborns, never had to sub q a more mature pup although I do have the huge needle it just sits in med drawer. I am needle shy as well that huge one was given to me when Hannah was going down, I refused to use it, scared the begezzes out of me I couldnt imagine injecting such a large thing into that poor little girl...I used a turkey baster to force feed hannah liquids and food instead.

| I'm excited... Daisy liked the Beneful Prepared meal (Savory Rice and lamb stew) that Steve brought. Now she did not eat a huge amount, but she's a little dog. She probably ate about 3 tbs. She seemed to really like it. She doesn't want to leave the babies even to eat. I have the bottom half of the crate within the Play yard... I have one of those large pee pads on one end. The food is outside the crate....she only hops out to go potty (not her poops, though) or to drink water...but she won't eat. She does have dry kibble in there constantly. I think I saw her take one bite of it last night. We are going to try to take her out to go poop again...i hope she goes. Needles...they have always been an issue for me. We had the tiny needles that come with the 1 cc syringes... so they were very small. My husband is very steady handed, and deals with animals all day. he's a farrier, so 3 oz. yorkie babies can be a little intimidating for him, but he sure stepped up to the job! He's told me of times where he's working on a lame horse, drains an abscess, and "stuff" comes spurting out!!! Ick...I don't ever want to see that. he just takes it in stride. I'm so thankful for the opportunity to serve someone else... I didn't get to go to church this week due to puppy watching, but my girls went and it is the beginning of Compassion month at our church. Our goal as a church is to do something out of the ordinary to serve someone that you don't normally interact with or even know all month....isn't God good? He gave me the opportunity before I even heard the sermon! It has been a blessing to my heart to be able to be blessing to someone else... a stranger even! If you could have seen the look on Steve's face, I can't imagine having not helped him. He was so tired and overwrought... I know he worked really hard to save those other babies.... so thanks for the kudos...but to GOD be all the glory! Sorry for going on, but I'm feeling very joyful today... deb |

| Ah sounds great! I talked to her today at lunch and it sounded like they were doing good. I hope Debbie is getting enough sleep, I don't want to put a burdon on anybody. Daisy sounded like she ate a little more today and Debbie says she is loving that pudding. |
