| I just read my post and I should have said that I supplement on a big litter... not every litter unless needed.. and like Dee, I sneak the little ones in to eat 1st. You'll have a time keeping track of who ate and who didn't on a litter this size.. and you do have a few sleepless nights coming |

I just hope they all can pull through the first few days. I got another bottle and some more substitute and will probably start alternating feeding a few. I see many sleepless nights ahead and pray to the man above that there aren't any sad sleepless nights.

Congratulations on your new litter and being willing to educate yourself. it is so nice to help someone that wants to learn and do the right thing. I have read this thread with great interest. the only thing I have to add iss if you start supplementing the puppies, be very careful not to push it too fast or if you use a bottle, watch the size of the hole. it is very easy for the little one to get aspiration Pneumonia.

| Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Congratulations lowviscosity on your large litter! It sounds like you did a great job helping mom with the reading you've done, asking questions, and following the good advice given. We will all be very anxious (when you find the time) to see pictures of the new family members. I'd also like to take this opportunity to give a to everyone who posted their helpful & pleasant suggestions for the OP. I've read through this entire thread and was so pleased at all of the "positive posts"! Way to go!

| All the pups made it through their first night, Daisy (the mom) is eating good and has had a few stools. The pups seem to still be doing well, the signs of a pup fading are weakness right? Also are there any ways you all dictate pups in a large litter, I am having trouble keeping track of who is who and feel bad for it |

you should tag each one with different color fingernail polish on their belly and weighing/recording weights 2 - 3 times a day...weights will tell you if they are doing well or not...if there is no weight gain or a loss then you know that puppy needs special attention and or feedings... MOST IMPORTANT...keep them warm keep them fed...a satisfied pup will have a round belly and their sides widen.
