| Did U get U're scales? We got postal scales and that is good to weigh them in, we got a little plastic basket and put a baby washcloth in it and weighed the basket with the washcloth 1st write that weight down, then put u're puppy in it weigh it and minus the weight of the basket and washcloth. U can by digital postal scales at Staples. Weigh each baby 2 times or 3 times a day. As far as heating pad on our last litter I too bought a new one @ Walmart and it had a automatic shut off after an hour. I went to get another one and that's all the had, thank goodness we had my hubbys grandmothers old one that never shuts off. Temp in whelping box and room she be Is U're mommy and babies in a large tote? If not go get the biggest one U can find and U can cut a hole out of the side and tape a hand towel around the bottom of the opening so when U're mommy comes out and U're puppies start crawling out then they won't scratch their bellies on it. U can put blankets, puppy pads (Taped down and put blankies down on top of U're puppy pads so they don't get to the tape) down in U're tote and put U're wrapped heating pad in there and more blankies down (U're cord to U're heating pad will go up to the top and tape it to the tote and then put U're lid on U're tote) U're mommy will love this and she and her babies will do good in this, it will keep them warm and keep a lot of the drafts out. Also U can get thermometers at Walmart with long cords on them so U can put that cord right down in the top of the tote & tape it on the inside, put the temp gauge on top of U're lid after U close it & that way U'll know what temp it is at all time. We have one for the inside of her tote and one for the room. We keep the tote at 85 degrees for 3 weeks straight. The room is like 82 to 83 degrees all the time (Both our litters was summer babies, May & June and we kept these temps in there then) U're mommy may get hot and want to come out and lay in the room so have her a bed there with old blankies in it for her to rest on. I used puppy pads outside in the room so Tiffanie could potty on them. Don't allow any visitors for at least 2 weeks, this is what I do...No one comes in my room to view babies except for me and my Hubby...Everyone else comes to the door to peek. I don't want my damn upset at anything. No other Yorkies are allowed around either. Not even Daddy. We tape "No Parvo Zone" in big letters on our Front and Back door so everyone knows to remove their shoes outside so we don't get Parvo! Tails and Dew Claws need to be done @ 3 days old. (This is what our time frame is with our Vet) Call & ask U're vet. I'd say U're going to have to help her in feeding due to her having such a large litter. U're Yorkie is a Yorkie and 7 is a big large litter and she may not have enough milk...My Tiffanie had 6 last June & we had to feed every 2 hours, I just rotated puppies each feeding, Tiffanie was still feeding too & she had milk but with so many she couldn't keep up with the demand, her milk started drying up just after a few days. We used Esbilac Powder U can mix as needed and U do have to warm it up just like a baby. & feed every 2 hours around the clock, day and night, U're tiny one I would try to feed every hour. I never tube feed any of ours, I just used a little syringe and put in the puppys mouth, just not a lot for it will come back through U're puppys' nose if U see this it is getting to much and they can get milk into the lungs and drown and U don't want that, so take little drops 1 at a time, I even just put it on our puppys lips and they will lick it some. Make sure U have U're puppy covered at all times when U're feeding it. A crying puppy is either hungry or cold! NEVER INGORE THEIR CRYS!!! Burping The Puppy After each feeding hold the puppy upright with its tummy against your shoulder and pat it gently until it burps. I hope this will help U in some way and U can PM me if U would like. U can go to our site below and view our tote, go to the photo galleries and click on present litter, the photos are on page 4. |

| Unfortunatley we lost 1 puppy and one had a clef and we surrendered it to the vet to take care since we thought it would be best for the puppy. So we have five, the vet is scared that a little one might not make it so we are tube feeding them and using a water/karo mix also tube feeding substitute when needed. The vet is saying we are doing the best we can and sometimes nature takes it toll, my girlfriend and I are sticking it out although we are crying for the one we lost. We are trying to do whats best for the ones we have left. Thanks to all, keep us in your prayers. |

Mr. Orange is up to 3.6 oz from 3.3 oz earlier today so they are steadily growing, we got 3 more to weigh... The vet that we signed puppy number 7 aka Brown to gave us her card and contact info so when she does pull through we can bring Daisy (mom) over to see her well pup. I felt so sorry for Daisy, she tried so hard to revive Pink Last edited by lowviscosity; 03-28-2008 at 06:28 PM. | |

| What a fabulous story. Such faithful and excellent help from all YTers. Is there any update on the little one you surrendered to the vet? We have you in our thoughts and wish the very best for you and your babies - and mom too. Way to go!

| I'm so impressed by your dedication to your babies. Maybe you can sleep in shifts tonight so you can both get a little rest. This has been such a stressful day for you. Hopefully tomorrow will be better We're all pulling for you
