| #2 in same spot when inside I've gotten my pup very accustomed to going outside to use the bathroom. Inside if she has to go #2 she starts to bark and goes outside. If inside and she needs to go she goes on her pad, but always goes when i take her outside.... anyhow, there is one spot on teh rug under my dinning table where i find #2 on the rare occasion. always the same spot, always. so i clean and make sure the scent is gone, but its past the scent i think and more of a spot she just remembers if she cant hold it and doesnt bark to tell us. should i block that area, take the rug away, put something there instead? |

| Ziva is very well trained now, never pees inside but if she is going to make a mistake it is to poop under my husbands desk. She has done it with him sitting there! Tells you a lot about how much he can ignore her.She will go to the door but if no one lets her out- she IS going to go ... |

| oh i hear that lol. i noticed it this AM, which means over night she did it, she didnt bark to alert us, perhaps she couldnt hold it and knew we were sleeping and had to just go. but when i took her out this morning she went #1 and 2 outside. this mornign i put a big straw bag in that spots so she cant go there. and she has access to one pad during teh day while we are at work and she is in the kitchen and hallway area gated. |

| Ziva is rather independent, she was difficult to train so I am happy even with the occassional slip-up. Abby is doing better at 3 months than Ziva at 5.Thank goodness they are little! |

| I'd say, she is still young, and feel lucky she only has an occasional slip up! Mine are 5yrs. and still have "slip ups"!!

| i def can put an extra pad there, however does that kind of encourage the behavior? is she going there bc she just has learned to or bc there is a pad. does blocking it off teach her "no dont go here" instead? i have 2 pads on the first floor of our place, she has no access to upstairs. (all rugs, no bueno lol) |

I would only put the pads where you want her to potty because yes it would encourage the behavior. Keep the pads in a designated area (like I mentioned b4/ like near the door.) Also, try to limit her food and water intake. As pups I cut my dogs off from both food and water at 8pm until completely potty trained. But now only the food. So you may want to try a cut off time each night being sure to give her plenty of time to go out and releve herself before going to bed for the night /2-3 more times. If that does not work than you may have to crate her at night. My babies where crated for sometimes up to a year before I allowed them to roam the house at night. Depending on whether they went potty in the house during the night.

We had a schnauzer years ago, who would only go in one place - funnily enough on a rug (why?!!?) underneath the coffee table. In the end, I put newspaper down in that place (that's all we had then!) and moved it gradually, day by day, to where we actually wanted him to pee. In our case, it was closer and closer to the back door. It worked for us, and I just thought I'd throw an alternative into the mix! Sally + Harry x

| Take out the rug. We did this for Ozzy. We had a thin rug in the family room when we first got him and he peed on that three times in three days. Took out the rug and voila!! No more accidents in that spot. Thankfully it was a cheap rug, so I just threw it out. It's funny because we have a different rug in the living room and he has never gone on that. In fact, that is kind of his "home base" where he plays with all his toys.

This is the same exact thing with Lola. I did as you all suggested, I took up the rug under our dining table. Sure enough it had stains underneath and she had been peeing on it when i didnt realize. So i took it out (thankfully it was cheap) and noticed a tiny drop on the floor right in the middle under the table - so i put her 2nd wee wee tray under there and voila she went on there. i think she lieks the "cave like" atmosphere of going under the dining table between all the chair legs. If this teaches her to only go pee on teh pad then i am ok with that, the other tray is in teh kitchen for when she is gated while i am at work. otherwise, she goes when taken outside just fine and barks when seh wants to go outside. she wont really poop in the house anymore, she prefers to do that outside too
