I was there when the dogs arrived from the airport. Stanley picked them up and brought them home. I saw them with my own eyes. The breeder was Shirley Caldwell and she bought Ashley from the Lipmans, showed him some as a special, bred him lots and a few years later returned him with the bitches. I knew Gloria and Stanley for many years and when the parti puppy was born she called and told me about it. She was stunned and did not register it. Then people coming for puppies all wanted that parti puppy. OMG $$$$$$$$$$ in the eyes and she started repeating the breeding and kept anything that was parti and bred them to each other. It was at that time that I severed my relationship with them. I felt it was unethical then and still do. And what a shame, Nikko Kennels had some gorgeous dogs at one time even though they had no qualms about breeding in health issues.

If you're still trying to say that it was the Wildweir line you'd better reconsider. A dog born with excessive white, NOT white patches on the sides and head is not your parti color yorkie. And the most influential yorkshire terrier kennel in the United States did not keep the dog and start a whole line of poorly marked dogs with excessive white on them!!!! But then Joan Gordon and Janet Bennett were not then nor ever have been motivated by profit.

Accuracy of DNA breed tests. Seems strange that the various companies say not to use their tests to enforce breed bans. Evidently they are not that convinced about their own test results. Woodcres Silver Star was out of R.R. Manhattan. Do you really believe that none of her bitches were bred to Ashley when she paid $25,000 to have him??????? Where is your proof that all Woodcres dogs were out of R.R. Manhattan?????

Woodcres Moonlight Charisma was out of Nikkos' Little Lord Hermitige and Nikko's Happy Hour. If I felt so inclined to pull out my records from 20 + years ago, which I don't, I could give you more names. Just hope all of you people that are hanging onto the Nikko lines have gotten away from the collapsed tracheas.

I asked this on another thread and never got an answer, so I'm going to ask it again. Just HOW does breeding partis dilute the yorkie gene pool?

One of the arguments I've heard is that because we don't know what else is affected by the parti gene, they MIGHT be at higher risk for carrying other traits. Has this ever been proven or is it just speculation used as fact?

If traditional yorkies are bred to only traditional yorkies, and partis to partis or parti-carriers, how does that affect the coloring of the tradtional? If anything, wouldn't it cause good breeders to be even MORE careful about their lines and be more honest in their breeding programs?

Well, on that we can agree upon. Many "show" kennels had no qualms on breeding beauty before health.

Since parti breeders can get parti and traditional colored yorkies in the same litter, there is nothing to prevent them from showing or selling the traditional colored yorkies, that are more than likely a carrier of the parti gene, to the unsuspecting public. If it is colored traditional, they register it that way and if parti, they register it as parti. I have also heard that the biewer people do the same. Both are just a scam to make bigger bucks selling puppies, just like people who use the term "teacup".

And just what is it I should reconsider? I personally have seen and read Joan's own words to discribe "her tri pup" and it was not a mismark. It was a "WHITE DOG WITH BLACK SPOTS"!!! How is that NOT a parti?
