| I have small flexi and it save me my baby from being lost. One time I got distracted and Tommy pulled me hard and I lost grip on the handle but thanks to the fact that it is a big plastic handle and make noise on the ground he did not run away but stopped and I was able to catch him. Next time my daughter dropped it and Tommy stayed still waiting for us to pick leash up Once he tried to escape on a regular leash and my daughter and I had to run after him through the whole neighborhood. That was scary. Now Tommy is older and does not try to escape that much. I'm happy with Flexi. I upgraded to the model where handle is made of rubber and don't have anymore problems with loosing grip. |

| I have the mini one for Teddi. I only use it when I am trying to get her to go to the bathroom outside so she feels free to go wherever she wants to. For obedience walking she is on a regular leash. The obedience class we go to said you use not train them on the flexi leash and that they will know the difference between what they are supposed to do on each leash and she seems to know! |

| I have two, I use them only in the yard, I do not use them when we go out. I prefer leather leashes on their harness, Seth and Sasha both have pulled them out of my hand before and like to scared Sasha to death.

| i allways used them, a little tricky with 2 though. I got the small Flexi with the comfort handle, and i have a deathgrip on the handle as i have drpped it before too, and scared the heck out of them. They been on these so long they come to dead halt if i do drop one. I allways have reg. leashes in my Truck in case i go somewhere when i need to have them close.

| I have the Flexi brand. Love it. Just be prudent of the area you walk in. I let mine out full-length or retract it as needed. Of course, you do need to hold tightly onto it. I have a more expensive brand as well, but I like the Flexi best. Have used it for a few years or so now. Has never broken.

| I use the exact same leash you just bought & love it. We started out using the tiny one but I eventually upgraded in size b/c (same reason) hubby couldn't fit his hand in lol. Raja couldn't be happier with the extra length - it's only a 6ft. difference but he doesn't pull nearly as much. I never use the old one anymore because it's all that thin cord, as opposed to having the actual bit of leash on the end. If Raja gets tangled on it the leash won't hurt him, but I fear the cord wrapping around his legs could hurt or burn. Great choice! I recommend Bags-on-Board to use with it.

| I use a 4 foot leash and hook the retractable leash to the 'handle' of the leash (using a round key chain type thing) so when I lock the retractable leash at its shortest part, the pup still has 4 foot to play with ... (did I explain that correctly??) My dogs never really pull on the leash ...

| I Use One Very Similar With No Problem At All, I Keep Mine On Retract And Just Put The Stop On If Harvey Needs To Be Pulled In Closer. I Think It Gives Him The Freedom To Get More Exercise, And We Never Have A Problem With Him Pulling On His Lead Or Out Of My Hands. He Enjoys His Walks So Much....

| I use Flexi Minis with mine (the smallest one - up to 10). My yorkies are smaller, the line is thinner, and the distance is shorter. I found these better for mine. I use them ALL of the time and absolutely love them!!! I wouldn't use anything else!

| Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | i walk morgan on a retractable leash now. When we started walking when she was only a few months old i had her on a 4 foot nylon leash, and taught her to 'walk with me' on the sidewalk only. I use the Caesar 'shhht' sound while on walks. If she gets too far ahead, if she goes on people's lawns, or if she notices another person or dog and gets excited enough not to listen i 'shhht' her. Now when we go on walks with the retractable leash i don't have to lock it, and rarely have to press down on the button to stop her from going out to far. she stays on my right side most of the time (i tried training her on my left but for some reason she likes the right, go figure) and doesn't go on people's lawns. its so much easier to walk her like this. When i pet sit for people and they have retractable leashes i usually have to lock them because the small dogs tend to take off to the end of the leash and think they can pull you down the street. very unsafe.

| I think they are great if you have recall problems. I guess i'm really lucky that once in the park my babies can go offlead as they always come when called and never run away. I use a regular leash's for walking to and from the park. The two things that worry me about them is that they could go faulty and unlock and that I never feel that I can get a proper hold on them (as in I can't wrap in round my hand as you can with the regular ones). |
