| D-ring clothing is it secure? I am just loving some of the vests I've seen here on YT. I just wondered how secure they are? I've got quite a little puller on my hands and if they are only secured with velcro I don't think that would be enough. |

| You can reinforce with buttons or snaps.

| I love the harness/vest for Zhoie, but I have to tell you...she is not a puller. The suggestion of snaps or buttons would be a great idea

| I dont reccomand using the D-ring on clothes. I did it once with a vest on Fido (he's 14 pounds and does not pull much) and it broke just in the first walk ! I just use a collar when he's in clothes or harness over the clothes that is in the same color as the clothes, then it doesnt ''stand out'' as much, most often I just use a collar he's big and with a strong neck I even use martingale collars for him its fine.

| I have a dog that pulls all the time and I use a harness without a problem. Although not as attractive, I use the easy walk harness, it helped Teddy with the pulling a lot. Doesn't matter how much your dog pulls as long as your dog is placed in properly he will not get out of his harness. I strongly advice against using a collar on a yorkie. It's not safe, especially on a dog that pulls. Easy Walk Harness Product Description - Premier Pet

| I want a easy walk harness for him but they cost about 60 dollars where I live, really expensive and I dont have money to buy it :/ My grandmother is buying a new harness for him I hope it will work better, its a leather harness with spikes really cool and strong. He doesnt pull much anymore but he did, I use martingale collars on walks. He's a big teapot yorkie (14 pounds). Why are everyone against using collars on yorkies? I understand that its not good for the throat but here where I live everyone uses collars for dogs, very very few people use harnesses here. All the yorkie breeders here ( think they are 5 or 6) use regular collars and martingale collars made of fabric/nylon and they have never had a proplem with the trachea or anything? Its not a known proplem here that yorkies have some trachea proplem the yorkies here are so healthy its about 100 yorkies here in Iceland and not many with health proplems, maybe 10 so this is not a proplem here with the trachea.

| I don't personally feel they are secure enough, I use a harness under the clothes to walk mine. I like when clothes have the little slit to put the leash through but I just thread the leash through the neck are if there isn't one.

| I'm sorry about your pup. Just know, all of us here take the safety of our dogs as the number 1 priority, and as far as walking our dogs harnesses are a lot safer. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and everyone is free to do with their dogs what they want (as long as it is not against the law) but you will find that here on Yorkietalk we are pretty cohesive about ensuring the safety of other dogs and we are therefore members are going to suggest what they think is the safest/best for dogs. Of course, not everyone on here agrees about everything (we are a diverse group) but I think at least on the subject of harnesses vs collars there really isn't a debate (at least for most of us).

If I'm walking him with just a collar I have a harness in my pocket if he starts pulling I change it , or I put it on outside if I have to be quick. I'm trying to use the harness more often I'm just so used to always using collars ! Its way better for the neck to use a harness I know but the one I got pulls the neck too so it does not change much but though it evens the pressure out half of it goes to the back and half to the neck I think, better than having all the pressure on the neck. I have a rogz harness. Im getting this one propably in the end of the month, do you think its good? ADORABLE!!! Small leather Harness!!! Lots to Choose!!! | eBay

| i've had mine escape from a D-ring vest by the velcro coming undone. i will put them on clothing if buyers want them but do no suggest walking dogs by their d-ring clothing alone. i prefer a tough and sturdy harness and to put clothing on over it if I want them. i know the D-ring is sewn in very solid and reliable, just not always 100% reliable velcro closures. |
