My grandmother is buying a new harness for him I hope it will work better, its a leather harness with spikes really cool and strong.

He doesnt pull much anymore but he did, I use martingale collars on walks.
He's a big teapot yorkie (14 pounds).

Why are everyone against using collars on yorkies? I understand that its not good for the throat but here where I live everyone uses collars for dogs, very very few people use harnesses here.
All the yorkie breeders here ( think they are 5 or 6) use regular collars and martingale collars made of fabric/nylon and they have never had a proplem with the trachea or anything?
Its not a known proplem here that yorkies have some trachea proplem the yorkies here are so healthy its about 100 yorkies here in Iceland and not many with health proplems, maybe 10 so this is not a proplem here with the trachea.
So out of 100 yorkies 10 have issues? If we are to take your rough estimates as true, that is approximately 10% of dogs that have health issues...which is very high. Just because you personally do not have any issues or know of anyone with issues, does not mean that they will not occur. Yes, we would rather put a harness on a dog because it is safer. I have a "teapot" too and just because your dog doesn't weight 5lbs that doesn't make your dog big by any means your dog is still small and fragile. The easy walk harness costs only $14 here.
