I don't understand these types of posts. Shouldn't they be online researching or in the library or asking their vet these questions? Is the 1st thing that comes to my mind. I'm not judging, just trying to understand.
To the OP, I wish you the best & hope Bella will have a safe whelp. Please post in the breeder section, there's many experienced, helpful breeders here on YT. Please do your research because it can save your baby girl!

The issue that I see with this suggestion is that friends and relatives are looking for free puppies and many times are not will or able to help financially. Which of course brings about an entirely different issues.

Sorry, but that's how I see it.

To me, a child or dog being ill and needing to see the doctor is still different then a pregnancy check appointment.

If the dog isn't that far along and an x-ray wouldn't be useful, would the vet even be able to tell for sure if she is pregnant? Could she possibly be going into heat or having a false pregnancy? Personally I don't see this as something that needs to be addressed immediately. I would treat the dog like she is pregnant until I could get her into the vet in a week or two. I will say that I am not a breeder and am not an expert on breeding and whelping, so if there is an immediate need to go to the vet if you suspect your dog is newly pregnant please let me know.

This is very true as well. Sometimes family comes looking for handouts but doesn't want to offer anything in return to help. The family members who are expecting to get the free puppies may be too excited with the thought of a new puppy to realize the cost to the family member responsible for the breeding or to realize the cost to them when/if they get the puppy. Nothing in life is free.

Ok. As a mother and a dog owner - to me it's not. As I said, it's the principal of the matter to me and where one's priorities lie. I won't change my mind.

Yes this thread may remind you of countless other threads of the same theme from very new members. Yes a lot of those other threads ended badly, the owner never came back to update us, puppies died, mothers died, etc, etc, etc... But the fact is THIS person, other new members, and people who aren't members are reading this for the FIRST time. They do not know the frustrations and anger the older members have towards situations like this
because of past threads so when you pounce on them things quickly go downhill for everyone involved, including the dogs.

Perhaps its better to say what you have to say, whether it be helpful or critical, in a respectful way. Everyone deserves respect. This is a forum designed to talk about yorkies, share our love for the breed, and help others.

So why don't we do that? If you have critical thoughts that need to be said, maybe you can post links to a few similar older threads that may shed some light on your feelings so the OP and others may understand more where you are coming from.

Or the easiest thing to do if you don't like what is being said is to not say anything at all. Simple as that.
