Totally your call- but If you can get the diarrhea and vomiting to stop for 2-3 days i'd then stop the antibiotics and anti nauseant. I'm not a fan of overmedicating and the antibiotics in his system longer than he needs them could really add to more problem. - keep up with the yogurt as long as the antibiotics are in him and for a few days after- i'd be giving hime 4-5 tablespoons when he is back to normal. My Layla is 6 lbs and she gets around 2 tbs at night.

YT is a great place filled with terrific, knowledgeable people -- we hope you will stay around once your guy is feeling better. We have a lot of fun here too.

| Can't wait to hear Mickey's on the road to recovery. Praying for both of you - as I know it is stressful when our furbabies are sick. My Bubba was desperately ill with very similar symptoms about a yr ago after returning from a trip - it was very scary.

| Update: Hubby is now in the store with his list and he has all that's been recommended to get......Pure Pumpkin, Pedialyte, Yogurt, not the Lite stuff, 3 bananas.......oh yeah, Chocolate Chip cookies for me. I despartely need chocolate. Oh and he got cookies for himself too. Being so stressed out about this, I'm afraid I've jumped on him about everything. He's the most tolerant man alive, I swear. I'm so lucky to have him in my life. Almost 10 PM and Mickey hasn't had any more episodes of diarrhea. I hope this is the beginning of his total healing. Also, I will certainly discontinue the antibiotic and anti-nausea medication once he's on the road to recovery. As I stated before, I much prefer the holistic/natural way of healing. Thank you all for your prayers and good thoughts for Mickey. At the moment he's resting comfortably on the couch on his pillow. He IS the King of the household. I will keep you all updated as to his progress. Thank you all again.....I just can't find the words to tell you all how much I value each and every post you've made. Thank you for helping me through this very not nice time. Now I know why support groups work so well. |

| PS.......I have no idea why this all started. He's on the same food, nothing has changed at all. It truly was a sudden onset of symptoms.....I just wish it would suddenly stop too. Thanks again all of you. |

| Well, he just had more diarrhea (10PM) but he went probably close to 4 hours without going too. I will give him his second dose of Plantaeris in the morning and cross my fingers. Gave him the good yogurt and a couple tiny pieces of banana but he wasn't liking the texture of it I guess. Gonna be another long night for Mickey and myself. Hopefully I can get a couple hours sleep. We sleep on the couch here in the family room.....I keep my hand on his legs so I'll know the moment he moves and has to go outside.......I sure am glad I don't work! Time to lay down and try to rest. Thank you all for all your help......I'll post in the morning as to the events of tonight. Goodnight all. |

| He's very sensitive to food so I feed him boiled chicken all the time. Nothing but. I tried a lot of dog food but oh my, so many nasty things in it...and he just won't eat the 'hard' stuff.....though I suppose if that's all that's presented to him he would when he gets hungry enough. He really does love the boiled chicken and rice though. He's now comfortably sleeping on the couch.....that's HIS couch I mean....he let's me share it with him! |

| I'm going to wait until morning for the Pumpkin.....right now he's turning his nose up to most everything. I think I'll just give him a 'new food' break.....I can always try it when we're up later. I wonder if he's gonna like it? I have the feeling if it's not meat he's not gonna like it much. Oh well......he's gonna have to learn to like it. If there is no more vomiting, I will put it into the special digestive tract food I got from the vet......hopefully I can hide it well enough that he eats it. Thank you again. I feel so much better knowing you are all here and have shared my experience. Funny how when you're going through a crisis it feels so lonely, as though you're the only one who's ever gone through it....and then you find the support group filled with wonderful people who have shared the same experience and feelings. It has removed almost all of the stress I've been feeling since Tuesday......so once again, thank you ladies for all your help and suggestions. May God Bless each and every one of you....every day of your lives. Goodnight. |

you know when this is all said and done with you should try talking to Layla's nutritionist- Susan Davis- her website is askariel.com and she is so wonderful. you pay 75 dollars for a 45 min phone consult in which she gives you a diet to meet your pups needs and your pup needs SO much more than just chicken- the lack in nutrition could be at the root of these problems. anyways- she is incredible- she has helped at least 5 other YT owners that i know- saving quite a few lives actually- Layla has pancreatitis and she saved her from being on on the canned crap vets try and sell. Anyways- PLEASE Consider this- he needs so much more.
