| Poor little Romeo and his daddy. We will be praying these two guys are feeling better soon and the dr's can get these problems under control. It is good to hear hubby has not had to be drained in a month. Sorry he is back in the hospital for a stress test. We will be praying everything is ok.

| Hello everyone, I wanted to update all of you on Mike and Romeo. Well, Mike came home almost 3 weeks ago. I got a call on Tue. afternoon telling me that Mike was leaving the next day. I could not believe it, because Mike can not stand at all, now. They would not get him up at all. They would every few days take him to PT. I would question them, every few days,What is the reason why he was not having pt daily, the answer was always the same, they are short staffed. I got so tired of hearing that I would run in there ever day to be there at PT time and they would have him do a few leg lifts while sitting in his wheel chair and back to his room he would go.That's is where he would be for the rest of that day and the following day as well. Out of 68 days they got him up maybe 7 times and that is it. So you can only imagine how surprised when I heard he was coming home. I was so concerned, with how I, by myself is going to take care of him. Its been almost 3 weeks now ( Wed.) and I am so busy.He is bed riddened. When Mike first came home he could not pull himself up from a lying down to sitting up position. He could not put either leg back up on the bed once lying down. I worked with him and after the first week, P.T. now comes in 2 times a week,as well. The nurse was coming three times a week to watch him closely. Last Thursday, Mike stood and transferred to his wheel chair. I work with him every few hours, and he finally did it. I did not ever think I would see that again. He could only take one step and he had to sit down. Last Tuesday he stood only 10 seconds 5 times. He has not been drained since August. I am happy, because I have no way of getting him in a car.He can not stand long enough to transfer from the wheel chair to the car.He will need to be drained real soon. He is getting bigger in the belly, but we are trying to take it off with meds without his kidneys failing, again. So far so good. Now Romeo, After many test, The vet decided Romeo has a thyroid problem. All the other test came back normal. Thank goodness. So he takes a thyroid pill two times a day. Please continue to pray for Mike, while he starts working hard to get stronger to walk so he will be able to go back to Georgetown to be reevaluated for a liver transplant.Thank you all so much.

| So glad to see an update. I am appalled about the issue with P.T. I can't understand that at all. Being short staffed is no excuse. I work in the health care field so I am aware of staffing issues and that still does not excuse the fact that Mike didn't get as much P.T. as he should have. Just think, if he would have had it 2 times a day all along, how much better he would be doing. Sad that he had to come home and you had to be the one to give him what he has needed. It really sounds like you have been very busy. You sound like an awesome caregiver. (Now maybe you need a spa day). ![]() Glad to hear that Romeo is doing ok and that it was something treatable. I will continue to keep the three of you in my prayers. Take care.

| I am happy that Mike is home with his SUPER CAREGIVER! but I really wish he had had better PT at the rehab so you would not be in such a difficult position. Are there hoists that you could rent to help with the transfer? I would think there might be something to help handicapped people get into cars so maybe that would help you transfer Mike to the car. I hope the thyroid medication solves Romeos' issues. You, Mike, and Romeo are always in my prayers. Praying for strength for you all and continued improvement!

| Brenda I just cry every time I read an update. It makes me so very, very mad the way you two have been treated. I do know how very difficult this is for you. My sister's husband has been on the transplant list for right at a year. I do want to make a suggestion, not sure if you have thought about this or not. Have thought about seeing if Hospice could come in and help? Hospice is not just for people who are dying, they are also for people who have a serious illness. They can be of some possible help to you. They can give you some time to take care of yourself as well. It's so very hard on the care givers and they most certainly need a break at times. Just know you and Mike are in my thoughts and prayers.

| Vicki, Thank you so much for the thoughts and prayers. Mike was not treated as well as he should of been, as far as PT is concerned. The staff (techs) were great. I hired one of the girls that worked with Mike a lot, to come in and help me if I have to go some where. Her name is Denise. She happened to ask me the other day if I felt they gave Mike the care he needed. I said to be truthful, No. She said do you know they said they have been trying to fix the notes and records because they know they did wrong by Mike. I said that is not right, she said all of the girls that worked with Mike said he is so nice that he would not say anything. So, If he was sleeping they would come in to his room at 9 am to get him, ask him if he was ready for Pt he would say can you please let me get awake a bit, they would say sure but they would not ever come back to get him.I had ask them when he first got there to have the afternoon Pt. That was set up that way. They knew that but Denise said they did that on purpose. That was they did not have to stand him up. I could not believe it when she told me that. She said I should report them to the main group of people in charge. I do not want to do that, because it will not help Mike at all now. the damage is done.Is your brother in law on the wait list for a liver? Please continue to pray for Mike. Thank you so much. Mike said to Thank everyone as well.

I also believe that something should be said, like you said it won't do Mike and good now, but it may help someone in the future. I'm glad that Denise is so good to you and Mike. Yes my Brother In Law is on the wait list for a Liver at Methodist Dallas Medical Center. Prayers will continue for Mike and you.
