Sometime tomorrow Michelle will have another surgery to put in a shunt to drain the spinal fluid. Michelle is looking forward to getting this over with so she can go home. The surgery will take about an hour. If all goes well she should be able to go home about 3 days after the surgery. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Michelle is out of surgery and is in recovery. The doctor said everything went well and hopefully in 3 days Michelle will be able to go home. I am praying that this is the end to all the surgeries and that Michelle can start living a somewhat normal life.

Thank you for the update! Maybe this will be what it took for Michelle to finally be on the road to complete recovery. I am still praying for her. God bless you all.

Another surgery? Your poor daughter. I am sorry to see she had to
have yet another proceedure done but sending prayer's this is the
final one and she will now be able to get her strength back and get
back on her feet. Sending only best wishes to you and your family.
I am sure your Thanksgiving will be a blessed event this year for all.

I wanted to update everyone on what Michelle has been going through. As you all know she had the shunt put in 2 1/2 weeks ago to keep the cerebrospinal fluid from building up in her head. Well Michelle has been very sick every since. They did send her home 3 days after the surgery but she has almost continuously suffered with nausea, vomiting, and headaches. The level of the cerebrospinal fluid in her head was too low and that was causing all the side effects. Michelle has been pretty much confined to her bed all this time because sitting and standing makes her much more sick.

Yesterday Michelle was admitted to the hospital again and she had another surgery this morning and is now in recovery. The doctors were going to clamp off the shunt so the fluid levels will build back up in her head. They are hoping that the cerebrospinal fluid in her brain will build up to a safe level and stop. If the fluid builds up too much and her head starts swelling again then they will have to go back and try something different. Michelle has suffered so much with all she has gone through. I pray this procedure they are doing today will work. I will know a little more after Michelle is out of recovery and her husband has talked to the doctor. Thank you so much for all your well wishes and prayers.

Barbara I was hoping that she was out of the woods for awhile. I don't remember through this long thread if we have her info to get cards to her in the hospital. Christmas cards with a note inside would be such a little thing we could do and wondered if you would want that info for all to see or would it be best to pm you if we would like to send a card. I would be glad to start a thread with the info and the url to the thread so they can see just how much Michelle and her family have been through. Just an idea and certainly up to you. I wish I could give you a hug. Joan
