Barbara, I haven't been on in a while but I am glad I saw this. Continued prayers for your family. Praying for a beautiful christmas miracle. She has been through so much already. God bless you all. Stay strong.

I wanted to update everyone on Michelle. She has had a lot of ups and downs this past week. She is still in the hospital and might be having another surgery tomorrow. We are still praying for a miracle that she will be home for Christmas. Right now Michelle has swelling in her stomach, back and head. The doctors are not really sure what is causing it but they think it has something to do with the valve they put in to drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid. Michelle continue to be weak and has not been able to walk much the last couple of days. They are doing an ultrasound on her tonight and then depending on what the doctors find, Michelle might go into surgery. I really have no idea what they might do and the doctors are very confused and frustrated by all the problems Michelle continues to have. Your well wishes and prayers are so greatly appreciated. I will post tomorrow after we know more information. Hugs.

Barbara, I've been gone most of the day and decided to log on before I went to bed and saw the message about your thread and I cannot believe
just how much this girl and really all of you have been through. I wish there was something else I could do and yet I know prayers are the most important and like I have said before I will keep praying. Hugs, Joan

Barbara, My 9 year old niece was diagnosed with Leukemia in July. The road has been long and hard,and she is climbing back...finally. You'll always have bumps in the road...DONT EVER GIVE UP HOPE!!!! The ups and downs can seem like an abusive roller coaster,but attitude and spirit is much stronger than any diagnosis. I will send hugs and prayer to all. I had my friends and family tape a picture of Summer on their steering wheel. No matter how tiered or busy people get, everyone has to drive,and they can pray while doing so. I'm going to ask all of the YT people to do the same and you pass that along to everyone you know. Prayers are amazing!!!!! Summer is doing really great,and she was in a coma,and on a vent,in the pediatric ICU for 4 weeks in August. We're all here for you and yours. God Bless and keep us posted. Fight that fight Michelle,I know you have it in you girl!!!!

Thank you so much for your encouragement. Yes, we have had many bumps but we will not let it waiver our faith. I pray that your daughter continues to heal and regain her good health. Everyone's prayers and well wishes have helped tremendously.

Michelle's ultrasound revealed that the pressure valve they put in her abdomen to drain the excess cerebrospinal fluid is out of place so they will have to do surgery on Michelle. They also did another cat scan of her head and the doctors are also trying to figure out why her head continues to leak fluids. They could take Michelle into surgery at anytime. Everyone's continued prayers are so much appreciated.

Barbara, I pray this surgery will be what finally helps Michelle feel better. I know you and your family have been down such a long tedious road with this..she is in my thoughts and prayers as well as you. Hugs to you and Michelle.

I know you won't give up-she will have up days and down days, and that's part of the recovery process. Please let her know we're all thinking of her and sending her our best.

I am unfortunately familiar with many of the terms, conditions and surgeries you have described. Though it's not exactly the same circumstances, if you ever want to talk to someone who understands, please feel free to PM me.

This hits really close to home for me-at age 17, I lost my mom to brain cancer. I don't have any siblings, and she was a single mother to me. We were very close.
