I'm sorry to hear about this recent development. I hope they are able to medicate this infection so that she can heal from the surgery.

We had a little good new this afternoon. The doctor is now saying that Michelle does not have meningitis but just has a staph infection in her neck. Hopefully the antibiotics will start working and get it knocked out pretty fast. Michelle is still in a lot of pain but she is feeling a bit better. She has had so many ups and downs. We just have to pray for the best. I know this will take time. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Glad she is feeling some better...infection localized to the neck is much better than meningitis~~ Prayers for healing for her and to lift you and her hubby and kiddos up!!! Will watch for updates... Many hugs for you Steph

| Barbara. How is Michelle doing? Is there any improvement? May the Lord place his healing hands on her. May she be relieved of pain and infection. May He provide you all with a peace that passes understanding.

Michelle is feeling better pain wise but the doctors are still very concern about her head. The doctors have blocked off the drain line in her spine so they can see if the spinal fluid will build up in her head again. Michelle said all the surgeons came in to see her today, they are running another culture on the fluids coming out of her neck and they are running a test on the spinal fluid. She said the doctors are now debating whether or not to do another surgery on her. I am praying that the doctors will make the right decisions and fix whatever the problem is. This is all so hard on the whole family. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Michelle had another surgery late yesterday afternoon. The surgeons reopened the incision on her head and cleaned it out in hope of getting rid of the staph infection. They also removed the drain line in her spine. Michelle has been in pretty good spirits today but her neck and head is hurting. I am praying that this will take care of the staph infection and that she will be on her way to a speedy recovery. Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.

We sure will be praying for her and your family. I have heard Texas has cutting edge treatments in these areas. I love watching the discovery, channel etc for different topics and I think I saw something on Tv about therapies. I had read about treatments they had begun on parkinsons disease etc. I am jsut not sure were in Texas they were doing these types if research.

Michelle continues to slowly improve. The doctors had removed the tube from her back and she was leaking spinal fluid from the hole so yesterday they stitched up the hole using nothing to deaden it. Michelle said that was quite painful. Michelle said her head and neck are feeling better but she feels very nauseous. She thinks it is from all the morphine and antibiotics. We are still praying the infection does not come back. The doctors did another culture after the surgery and so far it is looking good, no signs of infection. They moved Michelle to a different floor and now she has a bed by a window overlooking the Houston zoo so she is happy about that. My youngest daughter and I are going to visit Michelle tomorrow. I am looking forward to that. Thanks to all of you for your continued prayers and well wishes.
