I had trouble getting on Microsoft's website for updates for weeks and finally had to call them and let them take my computer over remotely and 3 days later, they finally got all the fixes and patches in and it worked again. Maybe call your browser's support call center and even if it costs, it will be worth it. With Microsoft, I had IE8 back then and so they support that for free.

What eventually worked for you, LJ? Yeah, I flushed my DNS about 4 or 5 times so far

Yeah, I flushed my DNS a zillion times too. It didn't work for me either. That's when I started poking around my computer to try to figure out what it was. In your orginal post, it sounded to me like you'd already tried flushing your DNS. That's why I suggested the traceroute & proxy website in the interim. Admin might tell you that it's your ISP. But it's not. Why would your ISP block a dog forum? It's def something on the YT end. It's highly unlikely that all of us are having the exact same issue.

Sometimes things like this eventually clear up on their own. I'm not actually sure if YT admin/tech did anything with my traceroute. I didn't hear back from them after I sent it. But I was able to get onto the site. So I just assumed that they did something with it. Depending on your browser, you can go to the settings & fiddle with your proxy settings. Look for network settings or internet settings (depends on the browser) & then LAN settings. Turn off the "use proxy server for your LAN", restart your browser & see if that works. Your goal is to change the IP address that YT sees. That's the problem. Your IP address is being blocked by YT. If worse comes to worse, you can physically change your IP address.

I really have thought the whole time that it was my IP address but I don't know how to manually change it. I tried connecting to someone else's network and then back to mine and that didn't work. I have tried 3 browsers (firefox, explorer, and chrome - downloaded chrome JUST for this purpose).

Going through one of those proxy websites will essentially do the same thing as changing your IP address. A proxy website will hide your IP address. Most people use proxy websites to log onto Facebook from work...stuff like that. Actually changing your IP address might get complicated. Here's a link: How to Change Your IP Address

I've never actually changed my IP address. But I actually considered it when this whole thing happened to me. I would recommend using a proxy website until the issue gets cleared up.

I think it's your computer name. Look under Control Panel and click on System and Security and then System and under Computer name, domain and workgroup settings should be your full computer name. That is what I was told is my domain name but better wait for somebody who knows for sure.

I figured it out. I was supposed to but yorkietalk's address in there I sent a message to Admin on facebook. I did a screenshot of the traceroute and of the message I get when trying to load YT. Hopefully something can be done.If not, sometime tomorrow, I will actually contact my ISP and get them to change my IP address themselves. I tried and I obviously did something wrong because then I couldn't get anything to load lol

I'm sure hoping that you can get it worked out or get that new ISP address tomorrow so we can get you back on YT at home! These computer glitches and things that happen are maddening! Maybe tomorrow is the magic day!
