Your specialist can actually contact one of the nutritionists ... you don't have to actually go there !

YT Addict | I'm so sorry to hear this about your adorable little Columbo. He is just precious! I hope you get the answers you want on Monday and he starts feeling better soon.

| This morning he is not interested in eating his breakfast. He must feel really bad, because this dog never met any food ever that he didn't want to eat. He LIVES to eat. I'm going to wait until my husband gets up, since Columbo adores him. Just having him home with him might get him in the mood to eat. If not, then I will make some chicken and rice and see if that tempts him. |

| My husband got him to eat a small amount of his dog food this morning, but not much. We made him some chicken and he ate that. Since he hadn't pooped all day, we took him for a very short, very SLOW, walk about 30 minutes ago past an area that he can't resist pooping at. Unfortunately, it was diarrhea (small, though), so we are starting to see more symptoms now. Last edited by bobohyde; 03-09-2013 at 12:17 PM. |

| This is the longest weekend, I wish it was Monday. One more day until the procedure. He was uncomfortable yesterday evening. I think the fluid buildup has increased slightly. Last evening it seemed he was laboring to breathe a little more than before, yet this morning he is back to the way he's been for the last several days. My husband decided to sleep on the couch downstairs last night and let Columbo sleep in his downstairs bed. For the past several nights, Columbo has got up a couple times during the night for a drink or pee. Because of the fluid build up, it is uncomfortable for Columbo to be picked up, so at least he could avoid carrying him up and down the stairs. Unfortunately, since his knee surgeries, he still needs picked up to get back up the two steps to the front door after going out. He gives a little groan when picked up. Thank goodness the snow melted yesterday, which takes away another problem. He had chicken & rice for supper last night, so at least he's eating. I haven't tried yet this morning as he is still resting somewhat comfortably and I don't want to ask him to get up until he's ready, although he's been awake and watching me. My husband said he go up and went out to poop in the night and it was diarrhea again. It makes a huge mess on his bottom and smells bad. I may try to cut the hair on his bottom away today if I can do it without bothering him. His tummy is bald from being shaved for the ultrasound. Both sides have bald patches from drawing fluid samples. He just got out of his bed, so I'm going to go tend to him now. |

| Well, it's funny sometimes how you just can't tell how they're feeling. He got up and went over to stand by the treat jar (means give me something to eat). He didn't want his dog food, but he happily ate chicken and rice (moistened with a few drops of chicken broth). I had to feed him with a spoon, since he only has half his teeth and the rice is hard for him to pick up. He obviously prefers the chicken to the rice! So then we go outside to go to the bathroom and after peeing, he sees a hot air balloon (the enemy) passing by our house and just starts wagging his tail and barking. I finally had to make him stop barking and come in. So I guess he feels good enough to bark at the balloon. That is a good sign. He is now sitting in a ray of sunshine coming through the window.
