| Infection...?? Pheobe may have some sort of infection…? Last night after work I noticed Pheobe’s vulva is very swollen . It’s red and the skin is very irritated. By irritated, I mean.. imagine a kind of thin scab type around the edges. Im trying to give the best example… Umm. Like a mild very light “rug burn” type of irritated and its quite swollen. Not the entire vulva, just around the edges where it meets her groin area. Im currently at work and am freaking out a little. I read on Debbie Jensens site a while back that a uterine infection (Pyometra) will cause the pregnancy to abort!!! I’m worried for Pheobe and her little ones… Oh MY GOSH.. I’m going to be calling the vet as soon as I can find time to get away from my desk. I wanted to consult you guys to see if anyone has seen this before or has any clue as to whats happening!Pheobe is still acting normal, eating, going potty just fine, being cute as ever ( haha), the usual..besides licking down there now and then. Pheobe was tested before being bred for any dog “STDs” and such. All was in the clear. Same for the male. Ugh…. Maybe im freaking out over nothing. But I don’t see how this could be “nothing”, you know?

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | She needs to be seen by the Vet, specially if she is pregnant, it might or not be Pyo, but if is red and very raw looking you need to take her in as a precaution, it can be as simple as a skin problem, just to make sure I will have her look at.. best of luck.. hugs, by STD's I gather you mean, tests like Brucellocis right? | How pregnant is she? I wonder if pregnancy makes them want to lick down there. SOunds like she may have gone to town cleaning herself. Of course you have to see what the vet says. |

| Just got off the phoen with the vet. She has an appt. at 4 15 tomorrow. The vet had asked me if i have shaved her belly. Which i did on Monday. She said i may have just irritated it. maybe shaving to closely or with too much pressure. I normally dont focus on that area at all with the razors. just trim when when the fur is so long that it gets moist when she goes potty. but i DID cover everywhere on monday. full grooming and nail trim. MAYBE i diiid do something?? Im still not convinced.. haha. I have a very expensive emergency first aid hunting dog kit for my english setter and i have many things in there. The vet said to use The Pov. Iodine on her when i get home and then again before bed and keep triple antibiotic on it in between. If its just irritation from shaving then it WILL be practically gone by tomorrow. IF NOT then its a definate GET HER IN NOW. Im going to try it ASAP when i get home. Im having my fingers crossed that t will be cleared up! If i have any doubt AT ALL im bringing her in. I recently switched vets due to disagreements and overcharges, and honestly...Im so glad. I have her cell number now in case i notice anything weird or see anything urgent and she was so informative and honest and wants an update in the morning via cell since she wont be in till 9. How awesome. I love the dedication.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | ok, that might explain it, razor burn. make sure she does not lick the meds, put a baby onesie on her after you apply the medicines. she is pregnant and you don't need her licking anything, I usually apply Aloe Vera Gel after I shave my dams, it prevents any rash due to the shaving, and I put a baby onesie on her until is dry. hugs, |

| Got home from work and it was already looking better. Im still using the Iodine and triple antibiotic. Im so releived that i was freaking out for nothing. I really jumped the gun, but its better to be safe then sorry. Im kind of embarrassed actually.Especially that its MY fault I will definately be extra careful next time, I cannot believe I did that. And im also going to take your advice and apply Aloe as well. Ugh..
