| Dental last friday, throwing up Louie had his dental surgery this past Friday. He had 6 teeth pulled. He is doing well, I THINK!? He has been throwing up since then. He seems more active than ever before but, now up-chucks after playing and he acts like he's choking,(it's white foamy stuff and just a little) That never happened before his dental, but then again he never played really before his dental. I have only had him for 6 weeks. To add to the problem...I changed his soft food that has a more fish in it, could that be it? I am calling his vet in the morning.

| If you suddenly change food, without the necessary gradual change, then that can and usually will cause tummy upsets.

| Do they put a tube in their throat for the anasthesia? I would think a tube could scratch something in his throat and maybe it's a gag reflex? In my limited experience, Maggie has only thrown up the white foamy stuff once recently and maybe once when she was much younger. This last time it was after a few hours where she seemed to be gagging, like something was stuck that she wanted to get out. Sort of dry heaves. She dry heaved a few times an hour. After about 2 hours she finally threw up the white stuff, I think 2 times right after each other, then the episodes subsided and stopped. I really think she had aspirated some of her morning yellow bile ( which she will have once a month or so-I should keep track). You know how it gets when something goes down the wrong way? So, I vote for a throat irritation, or possibly something could be in her lungs, because the activity makes it worse....Definitely worth calling, especially if it's been more than a couple of times. |

| Good news everyone. It was throat irritation from the tube. And today he is learning how to play like a dog again. He actually picked up a lil cloth ball, shook it and sent it sailing arcoss the room!!!!!!!! He has never played since I got him nearly 2 months ago. I can't imagine being in so much pain that I can't eat or play ..and for how long had that been going on? But now he bounces and spins in circles and plays !! Thank you for your help and concern, I totally appreciate it!!!!!
