| I just do not understand what it will take to get people to understand that animals are NOT property but living souls...more capable of love than most humans. Poor baby, I am so happy he is home with you though and hope he recuperates without any issues.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Just reading about this, Shawn. I'm so sorry poor Gatsby has to go through this, but I'm glad you have his back. Thanks for sharing. This is something that could happen to any one of our dogs.

| I am just now reading this....I am so thankful that Gatsby is better...Bless his heart...He is such a lucky fella to have a family like yours! I know that the fees were so steep, but, what wouldn't we do for our babies!! That is why I signed up for Care Credit when I first heard about it. I would not want to have to worry about paying if something happened to one of my babies... Please keep us updated.....Sending continued prayers...

| Thanks again for all the kind posts. We are all feeling much better today. His swelling is already down some, and he seems to know that he is not supposed to lick his wounds (or he will get his collar back on ). What a smart little boy he is. Last night we could not sleep he was crying so much. He usually sleeps on our bed, but we had to lock him in his crate, which we never use, just so he would not take the doggy steps which his sister still needs to use. His crying was bad, and at the right frequency, so that it went straight though my earplugs. Tonight we will sleep on the floor next to him and I am sure we will all get a much better night's sleep. The owner of the Corgi that attacked him came over today and was really nice, asking for our contact information so that her insurance could contact us. We would be very suprised, shocked even if she were not sincere about about feeling terrible about what happened to our boy. We showed her his tummy and she was so sorry. I did not press charges and am sure that was the right discission. |

| I am so thankful that Gatsby is home and healing. The poor little guy, that picture of his little tummy is enough to make me cry. I am also glad that the neighbor is stepping up and doing the right thing. I hope this has shown them they need to control their dog. I hope Gatsby gets a better nights rest tonight.

| Can the vet give him some better pain medicine so he can rest? God bless Gatsby and your family.

| Thanks for the updates. Bless his little heart. I am hopeful your neighbor will continue to feel responsible and do the right thing. I know exactly what you mean about sleeping where you have to, to be near him. Hugs for you too. I hope everyone get a good rest tonight. Still in our prayers for speedy healing.

| Glad to hear things are going okay with Gatsby. Maybe you could put his crate up onto your bed so that you can all get a good night's sleep. It sounds like he is a smart little guy knowing how to avoid that collar. Best to both of you.

| Glad to hear Gatsby is home. I'm sure he feels alot less anxious there and hopefully that will speed his recovery. The insurance thing has me wondering. Does your homeowners only cover you if your dog bites someone on your property? Or does the insurance travel with your dog and cover you if your dog bites someone while it is off your property? Does anyone know this?

| I had to laugh....I have spent many nights sleeping on floors with pups! The other thing I have done is put a carrier up on the pillow next to me so that a sick pup can sleep in it. I am happy to hear he is doing well. Also happy about the neighbor. Hopefully the insurance will pay the bills. I think they probably will.
