Yes, puppies can be quite the handful! I have a 7 month old foster right now and he keeps me hopping! He has found my furniture to be quite tasty, so I have to have eyes in the back of my head. Perhaps that is a good thing that Max is a happy and active puppy! I surely hope so.

Karen, Max is sooo cute! Sorry all this is happening to your new little guy and you have to go through this with a new puppy. I know you'll find out how to make him better and what's going on with your baby in time. Max is very lucky to have you and he seems like a very happy little guy!

His episodes seem to be at random intervals.

The breeder will not take him back. After quite an argument over the phone just a while ago I told her she MUST work with me.

My moral dilemma is that I have had him for 5 days. Do I want to spend thousands of dollars on surgery for a dog that should have been bought healthy. But if she doesn't take him back what choice do i have?

i am just so sad and upset. i'm in shock. i don't want to read about Liver Shunts and do research on a dog that should be healthy.

Don't know your location, however in the northwest...you can (legally) get all your money back and still keep the dog (judges won't break the bond you've created with the dog, especially if there are children in the house who have bonded with the dog)

Karen i have no idea what is wrong with Max but i don't believe that it is LS
my reason for that is my Micah was BAT and his were much higher than Max they were in the high 50's

I took him to UT and he went through all of the test there including a liver biospy no shunt was found, he however does have MVD and is on a special food and seems to be doing fine, and has gained a little weight not sure but the weight maybe caused from being neutered.

I pray that Max will be fine hugs to you both

Thanks for the support. I woke up this morning in fear. I'm so afraid that if its not LS then the outlook will be worse being that it's a major neurological disorder. I know one step at a time. I'm reading about so many symptoms in neurological disorders that Max just doesn't have, including lethargy, not eating, pain, etc.

Max is gaining weight just fine.

I've read all of the posts about Max and my heart just aches for you. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers and hope that this is all sorted out soon and Max will be ok.

Karen, it may not be neurological, but a neuro vet will know. AND, even if it is neurological it does not have to be major.

Pray for faith to replace your fears. It works!

I couldn't do it without YT. I'm going to need a therapist for me when we are done with figuring out Max.

Cooper has been the most incredible dog in the world. I take turns putting both Cooper and Max in the pen. It's really hard to keep Max contained and Cooper knows that when he goes in there that it's quiet time and independent play time for Max.
