This whole situation is just killing me. I am over the initial shock of the fee but it's simply something that my family and I have not budgeted for. I'm just really struggling with my emotions. I want Max to be healthy. The vet doesn't think his quality of life is affected right now.

I don't know much about LSU but have heard great things about it and I was very comfortable dropping Max off. The doctor already called me this evening to tell me the Opthalmology Dept. did one test and it came back normal, but now they are working on a horse, so they can't do the next yet.

I was interviewed by a 4th year college student who then brought Max to a room with a team of vets and college students. I feel he is in the best care right now. I'm a total, nervous wreck and barely hanging on, but pushing forward.

I have taken Lady to the NC Vet school. I love having "Team Lady" with several vets and students.

Bless you heart. I don't how you came up with $1,500 and counting for all these tests, but good for you. I pray you get some good news.

I really hope everything work out for you and max. I hope that the breeder will help like she has said she would so that some of your stress will be gone. I know how expensive vet bills can get, and it seems so frustraiting to not know what is wrong yet. hopefully you will get some answers soon. I'm wishing you luck and happiness for your family!

You gotta believe this, Max is with the Best. They will help him. We are here for support. No one here can offer you medical advise but we can put our listening ears on and give you lots of support. Hang in there. Maybe your breeder can help out with the cost. Please have faith.....Lissette

I'm not going to ask anyone for money. My mom always told me "if money can fix it, then it's not so bad". She told me that this morning too. Then screamed at me for paying $1500.

I'm just reading this thread, and I'm so sorry you are going through this. The videos were so sad; I sure hope the doctors can find out what's causing this, and your breeder will be supportive. Sending prayers for strength.

I've had positive experiences at two different vet schools, UF and Auburn. I'm sure LSU is a terrific place as well. They get much more exposure to unusual cases and have experts in every specialty. Max is in great hands!

And you are fabulous! I respect and admire you so much for your commitment to help Max. You haven't taken the easy way out, which would be to return him to the breeder. He needs YOU and your partner, and I think he really is just where he is suppose to be.
