I will. He's at the vet now waiting. He's a big tough boy and I just pray he will get through whatever this is.

UPDATE: all initial blood work came back perfectly normal. My vet is still sending in the BAT to be sure. I don't even know what to think at this point. She said for the 3 hours he was there, he was high energy. He shook once but never quite fell over. I told her that he doesn't fall over. We just don't know, but i guess this is a good start???

Is that great news? I'm not getting too excited. It could be a neurological issue if it's not LS. We are still testing for LS. Those results will come back tomorrow or Monday.

There's a saying in the medical field- When you hear hoof beats, think horses not zebras. That means start with the most common disorders before moving on to more exotic ones. Every little bit of information they gather now can help a specialist make the proper diagnosis.

I was thinking about something last night that may be of help in the long run. It wouldn't hurt for you to start keeping a detailed record of Max's activities: what he ate, how much, how often did he pee/poo- and what those looked like, what his activity level is. When he has an episode, document how long it lasts, any symptoms you saw, what you did to intervene during them, what he was doing immediately before hand, how he behaves afterwards.

It may help the specialists see a pattern that could help in diagnosing what is going on. It will also provide a record so you can track changes.

Yes is very helpful to do that, both for the future docs, and also to keep you gainfully engaged in the process.

If you have your video camera handy, and can get some footage that would be very helpful as well.

Just a memory of mine Karen didn't you write last night that Max feel over immediately after eating his dinner? I thought for sure I had read that. I'll go back through the pages to look for it.

I'm glad that the first round of bloodwork came back normal.

He went from a sit to a lay. His legs slipped out from under him and he fell asleep. The vet was under the impression that he was collapsing, which never really happened. I guess the difference is that it's very mild.

That's great news for now! I don't know whether The BAT testing is truly reliable in a pup that young but it can't hurt to send it in. I'm hoping this is just something temporary or easily treatable.
