| I was actually looking to see if anyone else had experienced the "lump between the toes", and lo and behold, I can across this thread. I just took my little Rocky to the Vet this week for a lump between his back toes. My Vet has put him on antibotics to start with, 1 tab. twice a day. Rocky goes back to the Vet Sept. 3rd. I am hoping it's something like what you went through. Not cancer, but more like a cyst that can be taken care of easily. Rocky is 7 years old. Keeping my fingers crossed and saying my prayers. Darlene.

| I am thinking you likley have nothing to worry about if your vet went ahead and gave you antibiotics. They have experience with these things and if it was likeley to be something bad he would've ordered an aspiration or a biopsy right away the fact that he didnt shows very little to worry about. I will keep you in my prayers though and hope everything works out well! |

| Thank You. I can't believe I saw your thread. The Vet said, lets see if it goes down first with the antibotics, if not, then we will go from there. No, he didn't see very worried, but then I am not sure if he was acting like that so I don't worry?? I do like this Vet, and he is real good, so I do trust him. I didn't really think of Cancer, until I starting your thread, and some had mentioned it. I actually thought maybe Rocky had been bitten by a bug or something. But the Vet ruled that out. Hope your little Lucky does well.

| If your vet didnt seem worried then you likely shouldn't be but I know how hard it is!! Specially not knowing exactly what it is. If it would give you peace of mind, could you maybe ask him to perform an aspiration? Again will keep you guys in my prayers, and please keep us posted! |

| Knowning me, I would probably hand feed mine, they are so spoiled. Can't have the collar off just while she is eating?

| She only has to wear the collar for 2-3 days, hopefully after that she wont need it. I've tried hand feeding her but for the most part she wont eat until I take the collar off and let her run around for a bit.. At least she is eating Does anyone know if its normal for her to he limping after the suture removal? |

| Hi MJM Glad to hear she doesn't have to wear the collar that long. Really glad she is eating!!! Running around sounds great too! I think, that it would be normal for her to be limping. Just like humans, I'm sure it's still tender from the surgery. If it's a bad limp I would call the vet. Then again, I ALWAYS pestered my vet!! For the least little thing.LOL! Call the vet for your own peace of mind! |

| So sorry to bug everyone again for an opinion on this, but not really sure what to do. Lucky had her stitches removed about a week ago yesterday and her incision seems to be healing just fine. However, saturday I took her out for a walk and about 10 minutes in she began to limp again. The limp has since gotten better, but its still there. She does not seem to be in any pain though or discomfort and like I said her incision seems to be healing normally. THe padding on her paw is slightly swollen, but I dont know if this is just nrmal after such a deep surgery? Any thoughts. I have tried to call the surgeon but he isnt in yet! They have told me to not bother with bringin her in to the ER without an appointment if she is in no pain. Thanks again |

| Did the doctors say anything about "how long" she should limp after the surgery? If she is still limping,(after a week now) it sound to me like something needs the Vet's attention. She's limping, babying that foot for a reason. Just my opinion.........Poor baby.
