Very worried.. Lump on my yorkies paw!! Hey everyone, First time poster, but long time follower. I just discovered a pinkish lump under my 4 year old Yorkies paw. It basically starts right below where the padding ends. Its defn squishy and soft. It feels fluid filled but I cant tell. I am very worried this could be something serious and was wondering if anyone had any experience with this? I just moved to a new city and I went to the first vet I saw, just cause I wanted to get an opinion and the Dr. kind of scared me. She basically looked at it, touched it and refered me to another dr for a biopsy cause she said she couldnt tell anything without it. I dont know if this women just isn't very good or if its really something all that serious.. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi and welcome to YT Try not to worry(easier said than done,I know) But do go and get the biopsy done! It could be anything from a fatty cyst to something more serious.

Thank you, I am trying. I have an appointment for tomorrw morning at 10AM. To be honest the Dr scared me more than I was before because she literally didnt tell me anything useful. Whats weird is that the lump doesnt seem to bother my dog at all. It doest hurt her if I touch it, she's ot limping or even licking it. Do you know what a fatty cell tumor would look like?

Hi I didn't want to scare you with my Buddy's story. But he had a mast cell tumor, twice. He didn't even know the first one was there. The second time it itched. A mast cell tumor is cancer. DO NOT let that worry you!! Your doing right in keeping that appointment. It could even be a wart. A fatty tumor is just that - fat. Only a biopsy can tell what it is. I'll say a prayer for her and you. Last edited by yorkiehugs; 08-09-2009 at 12:57 PM. Reason: add more

Thank you! The Dr I saw today opted for a needle aspiration first before the biopsy and some blood work. Here is too hoping I get some good news tomorrow!! I am going to be a nervous wreck till then.

For a human it takes 2-3 days, but they send it out. When I took Buddy in, the vet just looked under the microscope and knew what it was. I would call and ask them. Give Lucky a scratch behind the ears for me.

Called and asked and they said I would know by tomorrow because they send it out. Is it a bad sign that they have to send it out? I mean it sounded like it was standard practice..

No, that is not a bad sign. Just the way they do it. I have a old farm vet and he has a lot of his own equipment. Let us know as soon as you find out something.

| Histiocytosis Check this out . I had the same issue as you and this is what Alfies turned out to be and it went away on its own. We had the aspiration done as well just to be on the safe side and that is what i turned out to be . We were just amazed when it just disappeared as it looked awful.Good luck and try not to worry.
