He is at the New York City Veterinary Specialist... so the hospital itself has rave reviews, but I havent found anything specific to him other than on the hospital website. I am sure he is great at what he does.. its his bed side manner that is coming into question at this point!

So finally heard back! GOOD news!! seems from the aspiration there is no evidence of cancer or an infection, so that is a huge relief!! Based on the results they think its more of a cyst. On the downside though the surgeon says because they still dont know 100% what it is he thinks we should still remove it.... he is more worried about it growing and eventually making it hard for her to walk then anything else. I am thinking he is right, Im more worried about the cost of it, since at the moment I am a full time graduate student, but I'll look into ways. If anyone has any experience with this your opinions and advice are more than welcome Thank you all again so much for your prayers.

Oh! Thank goodness!!! I'm so happy for you and Lucky!!! She is lucky!!! Now that you know what it is. You can take your time and call around for a vet who might be more affordable. Start another thread on that, see if anyone here can help you. Good Luck!

| Oh I am so relieved to read this!! I've been checking back every few minutes to see if you'd heard anything. As for the cost, I have no idea what it might be. One thought I had, do you know if you have any teaching hospitals near you? Sometimes the cost there is considerably less than a private practice. Either way, take your time and find someone you are comfortable with to take care of your baby. Thanks for letting us know, and please keep us posted!!!

Hey everyone just wanted to give you all one more update since I know you have all been praying for Lucky! I have scheduled her lump removal for tomorrow morning so hopefully if all goes according to plan she should be back home with me all better by tomorrow night. Your prayers will be greatly appreciated again!! This will be my first experience with dog surgery/anestesia so not sure what to expect and frankly pretty nervous!! Thank you all again

If Lucky is going to be under, try to have everything done. If she needs teeth cleaning, have that done. Have them cut the nails way down. Trust me they can almost get them to the quick(sp) while they are out. Ears cleaned, anything you can think of. Even if it's the smallest of things. It's less trauma on her than when she is awake. Both you and lucky will be in my thoughts and prayers.
