| I am so sorry for your loss. I know exactly what you are going through.I lost my yorkie last June with an overload I.V. of 500cc. They killed him. Now I have a 3 pound, 9 months yorkie and I am afraid of getting him spayed. I know it's devastating. I am still traumatized. I pray to God to help you ease your pain. You are in my thoughts and prayers. |

| YorkieTalk Newbie! | I am so sorry for your loss. I am new to this website. My yorkie, "Bridgett", is 9 years old. Three years ago, she had to have a knee replacement. Her heart stopped beating during the surgery and our vet fought very had to save her and did. But now Bridgett has an anal gland tumor and needs surgery again. He is reluctant to do the surgery because of her previous scare with anesthesia. I had her at the vet yesterday and he is considering gas and a block in the area. He told us that surgery is necessary, but it is a question of which risk are we willing to take. I love her with all my heart. Not having any children, she is my fluffy child. So, we almost lived that nightmare once and am feeling the overwhelming heaviness of trying to make the decision for her surgery again in the very near future. |

| I'm guessing your avatar is Olive. What a precious baby. I am so sorry you lost her. When I read something like this it makes me sick to my stomach. My son lost his GSD due to spaying. The vet did not tie something off (didn't really understand) but he never even as much as said he was sorry. They had took her home and she bled to death that night. Again, I am so sorry. What a darling yorkie. RIP little one. |

At least your vet is cautious. Before her surgery just do every test imaginable to make sure she will be fine (blood, bile acid, EKG (for any heart irregularities). Then insist on the Sevoflurane gas anesthesia. It is the safest, used for pediatric surgeries. My prayers are with you and Bridgett and yo go through this. Please keep me posted on her.
