She has pancreatitis... i need help NOW

I'm sure you've already done this, but double check your yogurt label to make sure their is no artificial sweetener in it. Many non-fat yogurts have added sweeteners. We always go with the low-fat by Stoneyfield. It has great probiotics in it and the girls love it!!!!!

For the fish - have you tried making any brown rice? Brown rice is much healthier as the glycemic index is lower and it also contains protein. I would also mix in some of her favorite veggies!!!

Thanks Jodie. I checked... no artificial sweetner... we are using Activia Non Fat.... which is basically the same ingredients as the regular ACtivia which is why i love it!

I'll try brown rice! thanks! and I have some mixed veggies of hers that i'll try at supper!

My girlfriends dog has pancreatitis, and she feeds her dog one of the foods from solid gold that is only 6 or 8 percent fat, and she feeds her evangers wet food which is also low fat. I do not know of any premium dog food that is that low fat for dry food.

lol.. nothing. but i wouldn't imagine that she would since she is on a very low fat diet right now.

oh RIGHT yes... i forgot to tell you! it went SO well... i'm headed to the grocery store today to pick up a few things and cook this afternoon- it's mainly fish (i'm going to give turkey a shot and see how that goes) potato, sweet potato, and green veggies. I also have to go buy a scale. I am also going to get NV freeze dried medallions. it will never be fed alone since it does have a high fat content but over the ocurse of a day i'll break up one medallion and put it on her food. Just because she isn't getting a variety of protein sourses and needs more than just fish. ALso she likes the ground bone and whatnot for calcium. It went SO well. I feel SO much better and i'm really looking forward to getting Layla's numbers done again. I just have to wait for some supplements to arrive and as soon as she has started on those I can get her blood work done a month after starting the supplements.

oh just a multivitian, and pro biotics and then a lypase enzyme. She said she REALLY sees improvement with the lypase enzyme but I was telling her that Layla has no where to "improve" from since she is symptom free but she said it will help bring her numbers down since her pancrease will not be working so hard to produce the lypase and thus over produce lypase. but i had to get it shipped to MIchigan so we won't be able to pick it up until some time next week
