| You have some good information to work on right now. I wouldn't want to overload you at this point. I still feel her level will bottom out with a non fat diet. I think it was all the salmon she was eating, but I'm no Dr. I'll talk to one for you though. Chin up, I know it's difficult but your a great mom and stronger than you realize. Warm hugs to you and Layla.

| Marci, I'm so sorry to hear this about sweet Layla. You have such a great support system here though and that is wonderful!! Hopefully everyone's gut feeling is right and it's not pancreatitis. You and Layla are in my prayers. ![]() Tammy

| Awww Marci, I know you are so scared and freaking out right now. I am upset for you too-but keep in mind all of this great advice you've gotten here, and the fact that the vet said that it's manageable with diet. You tested Layla early, before she had any kind of attack/serious symptoms-what a great mommy you are! It sounds like talking to a nutritionist would be a great place to start. I agree too that her levels might come down on something other than beef/salmon right before her tests. But, talk to your nutritionist and see what she recommends. I don't know a lot about this, but you know I'm here for you anytime. Sending you both huge hugs!

| Thank you all so much for your posts and support. I was a mess this morning... so upset... so confused.. but i've gotten some wonderful advice on here and i'm looking forward to talking with the nutrionist and showing my vet that it CAN be done on a home diet. I sure hope that once she sees I can do it, she won't deter any other home cookers in the same position. I know she just wants what's best and she is so great... we talked for almost 45 min today.. she answered all my questions... but i look forward to showing her that i am right on this one |

| Oh Marci so sorry, but a lest you know what she has and how to treat it, I know Layla is going to be fine, with a mommy like you. I don't see either why stop home cooking, because I do, but just like I told you in my pm a lot had to do with portion control, because most of the yorkies I have seen they are overweight and some have health issues, actually not only yorkies, my vet said is a toy breed problem. I know you are confuse and you have ask for prayers, I think if you pray to God to give you wisdom and to put the right people on your way regarding this issue with Layla He will |

| Marci, I'm going to attend a nutrition class this evening and will ask the Dr. about Layla's problem. I ran into her at the vitamin store awhile ago and was only able to ask her a quick question about Layla and she said she too would suggest rabbit meat and fresh veggies. I'll see if I can get more information this evening after class.

I believe Lauren was planning to put Mango on The Honest Kitchen Preference and add her own meat to it. She has done extensive research on foods and this was the one she liked the best from what she found.

| Just reading this, Marci..I am so sorry to read that Layla has pancreatitis!! Poor girl ![]() I concur with everyone else about homecooking. There is absolutely no reason not to homecook as long as she is getting the appropriate kinds of food and recommended amounts of fat for those who have pancreatitis. Prayers for Layla!!!
