Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Oh another question i have....Are hives something that you can ease to an extent but they have to run their course first? Kinda like a cold...there is no cure for it but you can ease it but in realtiy it has to runs its course then its gone? Another big concern i have is her eyes swelling....whats that from???

| Steroids usually makes me hungry and irritable. You can put oatmeal in a thin sock or a tied off knee high and soak in warm water about 5 min...ring it out and apply to affected skin. This will help call down the itch so she wont itch and it is non toxic |

Benadryl is an anti=histamine. It blocks the histamine from doing its thing...but once it is used up...then the symptoms return as long and the dog is being exposed to the allergen The very most severe scenario would be anaphylactic shock with your vascular system looses all fluid out into the tissue and you lose blood pressure.. The eye swelling is just part of it. Ever see some one with hayfever and they are puffy? So is it 2pm yet???

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | not yet...3 more hours!!! lol well no trouble with the breathing that i can tell nor the vet could see. just puffy eyes for about and hour and the benadryl knocked that out and now her eyes are fine. Diggy went thru the exact same thing thats why i ask if it just has to run its course its so weird they are reacting the same exact way...hers is lasting a lil longer tho...Common 2 o'clock!!!!!

Hives are the result of the body's immune system reacting to something. The benedryl will counteract the histamine that creates the hives, and will temporarily relieve the symptoms, but if they are still exposed to the irritating source, or if the initial exposure was significant enough, they hives will continue to come back. I've only had hives once in my life, and it was not fun (and the itchy palms and feet!!!) Poor babies. I hope you find what's causing it soon, so they can get some relief.

| My sister in law just took her Beagel to the vet for allergies. Red swollen eyes, scratching at ears. Maybe it is just a really bad year for allergens?? We are on the west coast tho' Hope your babies are gettin well.

| Could it be a reaction to a particular type of pollen? Do you use anything like a shake and vac type thing or your carpet's ? My first little yorkie Max used to get a rash in his ear's they would go all bumpy and it seemed to happen the same time every year it seemed to be linked to a type of pollen that was around. It is very difficult to find the cause sometimes, and so frustrating for you.Hope you get to the source of it.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | Okay went to the vets Bella ended up getting a shot of steroids too and she is avting much better now (thank god) Her hives had moved into her lil ears and she was just so pitiful Still dont know the source. Vet doubts it is an outdoor allergy being they both reacted the same exact way at the same time. So we narrowed it down to ants? Thats all I can think of! Im just glad its gone and hope it NEVER comes back!!!!!! Thanksf or the concern and posts...mean a lot to me

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I had a very similar reaction, they started out as red marks then bumps and would pop up a couple at a time. I went to my dermatologist last week and he said he thought it was itch mite bites? He said you can't see them but there was an outbrea of them last year around here. He gave me meds and a cream and most of them are gone except the red marks are still there, just not raised.

| Did their skin turn pink all over? Did you bring in a new blanket or possibly new clothes into the house? Miko recently had an allergic reaction to a new blanket that I bought, and it was horrible! I felt so bad for him.
