| The reason Miko reacted to the blanket is because it had not been washed yet, and I guess they treat these things with so many chemicals.... His skin turned pink and he was scratching really bad. He never, ever scratches. He had an allergic reaction to it, and you could see it all over his skin. The parts that were raised, I looked closely, and it seemed as if they were raised from his scratching so much. Wash the new things that you bought in dye free perfume free laundry detergent. It's important to identify the allergen which in my case was the new blanket so that you can remove it or wash it or whatever. I hope they get better quick!!!

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | they both have had a shot of steroids and itches are gone along with hives but i was straining my brain for the cause!!! I got fleece saturday and they rubbed all over it!!!! face scooting and playing on it! Diggy broke out that night like 6 hours after contact Bella about 12 hours after contact but both had EXACT same reaction!!! I make fleece things all the time all purchased from the same store (Joanns) and they never reacted but I suppose they get this fleece from all over the place and could all have different things on them? I use ONLY Tide products my son Tannar breaks out in hives if I use anything else. So I will wash all new fleece from now on 2 times over in HOT water!!!! This is so crazy now that i hear that your baby broke out with the same thing it makes perfect sense!!!! okay i am gathering up all fleece and down to the washroom it goes!!! Thanks Marisol...your a great help as usual.

| When I wash any of Lilys things I have to use Tide free, if I use any thing else she will be fine for like 2 days and then she will break out very bad.

Same thing here! I have to use dye-free, perfume-free laundry detergent because I have allergies, myself, along with Miko...

| Just seeing this, and I was thinking it had to be some sort of outdoor allergy. But, it sounds like you might have narrowed it down to a fleece blanket. Whatever the case, I hope they both feel better soon! I hope the steroids don't make them too hyper lol.

| Hi Paula - just now seeing this thread. It definitely sounds like the fleece is the culprit. The ants just don't make sense since they would have been exposed to them before. Non-toxic, no phosphorus laundry detergents are great for allergies, too.

| Another culprit could be what you are washing your floors with. I have one little girl that cannot take clorax bleach floor cleaner or pinesol or she will break out also.

Bella Boo & Diggy Too! Donating GS Member | yes that was one of the first things i looked into...I use a TINY bit of bleach on water and keep them off the floor for a few hours I havent switched the beach i use and have not did the floors in the few days befor the break out so I think i have that ruled out....its all so confusing and frustrating tho uggggg

| Oh I just saw this. Yikes!! I'm glad they seem to be feeling better. Sounds like it might be the blanket/fleece. Hope it doesn't happen again. Big hugs to the kids.
