It's too bad about your back. Geesh, seems like you should get a reprieve somewhere.:( When you go home will you be going to PT or will someone be coming to you? Bless you as you sleep tonight. |
I hope you are feeling better today, Susie. You and Tink continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. :) |
I will have PT at home for a couple of weeks until I'm able to drive and take myself to therapy. I'm thankful that my insurance covers these programs for home PT and nursing care. I will need blood tests for a couple of weeks yet and a nurse will come and check on me and draw the blood twice a week. Saves me from having to find transportation and make appointments. YAY! No different news on Tink today. She is still trying to scoot and really really trying to walk in the sling. Her front feet don't have the hang of the rhythm yet, but it will come. Today the original frog had to go to froggie heaven, so Barb gave her the first replacement frog! She didn't even stop sucking long enough to notice the change! Silly baby. I love her so much, I so miss holding her on my shoulder at night and getting the little licks and snuggles. Soon, I keep telling myself, soon! |

Go Tink, go!!!!!!!! Susie - I'm sure it wouldn't be possible for a while with your knee surgery, but have you explored the options an inversion table might have for your back? We bought one a few years ago and it really does make a difference for back pain. I'm not fused anywhere, but I do have two herniated disks in my neck and when I'm in a lot of pain, hanging upside down helps. We got ours (it's called Hang Ups) on QVC........ |
Susie, something that helped me immensely was to use Safeway (major grocery line on the west coast) online. I ordered groceries online, they were delivered and kept me feeling independent. The delivery guy even put specific groceries away for me. Have PT and visiting nurse will be just great for you. Always enjoyed their visits, helping me learn to walk in rthymn and answering my general questions. Take good care and so glad sweet Tink is improving. It has been a long time since she was at home to spend the entire night sleeping with her Momma. What a celebration you two will have together. Warmly, Deborah |
Sending Prayers for the continued Healing of Susie & Tink & to be reunited!:hands: |
Susie, I've not posted much on your thread but please know that not a day goes by that I don't think of you and Tink. I love you both dearly as you know and I can't wait for the day that you and Tink get to be together again. Each time you post my heart aches for you... even the posts that bring happy news give me the same ache, because you're posts are filled with such love for Tink and I know how much you are missing her. I wish I could make time skip forward for you both and all this would be in the past and you and Tink would be back together on your computer chair with her snuggled up on your neck... I'm glad you are coming home soon and that Tink hasn't noticed a change in the frog... that's another step closer to everything being right again... |
Hi Susie, So glad to come to YT and read the updates. Sorry you were having so much pain.......seems like it just moves from one area to another. Hopefully you will be able to get "all" pain areas under control. With your positive attitude and "not giving up" determination, you will be better in no time. I was soooooo glad to read that you will be going home on Friday! NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!! Glad to hear that Tink is making progress as well. I am sure she must miss you just as much as you miss her............she is mommy's little Tinkerbrat! Wishing you the best and we'll keep in touch! xoxox Carol |
Hi all. My last night at the rehab center. Tomorrow I will be home in my own apartment and trying to get everything put away and "Susie-ready.";) I have a couple of friends that are coming over during the weekend, but you know how overwhelming it can be to have people asking you "Where does this go? How do you want this?" I am praying that I will be able to lay down in my own bed and be so comfortable that the pain will just go far away. I really need God to touch the area of my back that is causing so much pain and just make it go away. PT really thinks the pain is positional from the surgery and not having a proper bed. I hope they are right and I heal quickly. I'm being very careful and cautious with my back these days. I want to be able to take care of Tink as soon as possible.:) Barb is planning to bring her over one day next week to see me. OK, gotta go lay down for awhile. Talk to you tomorrow. |
I will pray for God to touch the areas you are having troubles with. I am glad you get to go home being home always makes things better. |
Hi, Susie. So sorry you are still experiencing pain in your back. Hopefully, you have a firm mattress and that will help ease the pain. Hospital beds and pillows are so uncomfortable. Look forward to hearing you are home and the pain is diminished. Warmly, Deborah |
Susie -- Praying that you get some relief. Doing the happy dance at the thought of you being home again.:) |
Susie, praying for God's healing touch to relieve the pain in your back and elsewhere. You have such a wonderful attitude and I can here your excitement about returning home :) |
Susie, prayers for your trip home today and all goes smoothly. |
Well, today is the big day! I hope you can get settled in and that your helpers will be just that. It will be so nice for you to see Tink at your own place again. She is going to be so happy! You're right - it is great that your ins. co. will cover those home visits. That is just one more thing you don't have to think about figuring out right now. :note: :note2::note2: Don't forget to keep singing!!! :) :bighug: |

Glad to hear you are headed home. Just remember you don't have to get everything done in one day. Take your time and go easy so you don't set you rehab back. I am sure Tink will be so excited to see you. We'll be checking back for updates. |
Welcome home, Susie! Have a painfree Memorial Day weekend! The M&Ms are sending kisses to you and Tink... :animal36 |
Just got all caught up on everything...I hope. It's Friday...are you home yet? Just keep up the good work with the therapy...once you are in your own home and bed, I pray the back pain will simply disappear. And Tink, bless her little heart, seems to be trying her very best to get better. All of these itty bitty baby steps are adding up...she'll be back home with you soon...then the two of you can take care of each other. Inspirational!!! I am in awe with all you've been through...think positive thoughts, you CAN and WILL do this...both you and your sweet Tink!!! |
Stopping by to hope that you had a good first day at home! Here's hoping it's the first of many and that the Tinkerbrat can join you very soon.:) |

Yay - I got my internet hookup fixed. Practically had to stand on my head, but I got it plugged back in! I'm home and so happy! It was wonderful to sleep in my very own bed last night. I actually got more than an hour of sleep at a time!;) Those of you who have followed Tink's story since last summer will remember that I have a "friend" with a little Yorkie girl Dixie. She loaned her to me last summer when Tink was in hospital and to be quite honest - she is a terrible little brat! She ended up going home early. Well, I had a horrible suprise when I got home yesterday. A darling little bratty Dixie met me at the door when I opened it. I nearly cried in front of my friends I was so upset. In fact I did cry later in the day because she never stops and has to have attention 150% of the time and I don't have the strength or mental accuity right now to take care of her. Marcy left me a note on the door saying she was there to keep me company! I do not like that dog and did not want her here. I needed peace and quiet. Oh how awful to feel so badly about a cute little dog but I'm sorry - I do!:( My friend Karen (not the one who has Tink) came and took her away about 8:00 tonight - thank the Lord for good friends. Dixie will stay with Karen until Marcy comes back on Monday. I couldn't believe this happened:confused: Anyway, I'm doing quite well, still quite a bit of pain but it's to be expected - if the back will calm down, I will be in good shape. My surgeon said that the back needs to calm down so I can have good mobility in the knee so he is consulting with my spine surgeon and the pain clinic about more steroid shots to my spine. I really don't like those and I think they have stopped working for me. Please pray with me that God will touch my back and I will not have that pain to deal with right now. I talked with Karen (who does have Tink) this afternoon and Tink is doing well with her therapy. She is beginning to get the walking rhythm back in her front legs and trying to hold her front up to walk. She does quite well in the water with the harness. She is going to try to bring her over this weekend. I would love to see my little girl. I'm going to post another thread about all the cards and gifts I gotten while in hospital and rehab. Other that the frog Sue sent (which we've already given to Tink), I hadn't seen the other things. I opened them all last night and today. I took some pictures and I'll post pics and thanks tomorrow. I really can't sit any longer to post and this is a long post already. Thank you all for your thots' prayers, cards, well-wishes, and gifts for Tink and me. I'll try to thank you all individually. I am so thankful for all my YT friends. Please continue the prayers for us. Hugs - Susie! |

Hi, Susie. So glad you are back home and sending healing thoughts that your back pain will ease so you can sleep. Warmly, Deborah |
SO glad you are home. It must feel good to be there. Hopefully, no more little obnoxious dogs or standing on your head in your future!:):) Thoughts and prayers, big hugs, and some sloppy Yorkie kisses headed out to both you and Tink. Wonderful to hear that she is battling back. Lovely little raven maven!!!:D |
