Hey! Tink is doing well. Barb says she is eating well and has started trying to scoot around in her crate! Pete was quite suprised and very excited. He didn't think she would start that for a long time yet, if ever. I guess she pulls herself with her front legs and tries to maneuver her butt. She can't do it yet, but she's trying! Isn't that wonderful!:D :cheer: I asked about a cart for her and Pete says no, they want to start putting her in her sling more frequently to see if they can force some movement from her. This is so exciting. Won't it be grand if she can walk again one day soon or even just some day!?!:doghop: I'm boosting my prayers. My little Tinkerbrat - I love her so much.

As far as my pain and clotting - the pain was unexpected and so an ultrasound found some clotting at the back of the leg which they were able to promptly take care of with some movement restrictions and the addition of some meds. The test today showed the clots are dissolved - so great news there. The pain in the knee is getting easier and easier. Please pray for my back though. All this maneuvering and movement of realigned bones is causing my back to act up and I've had several episodes of bad pain down my leg as a result. We know the cause and treatment, it's just hard to deal with and will take some time to calm it down. I need physical and emotional strength to deal with it.

The social worker just stopped by to tell me!

I'm excited and scared at the same time. But it will be nice to be back with my own familiar things around me. A few weeks yet before I can think about going back to work, but I'm getting there. Now I just need to get well enough to take care of Tinkerbelle and then she can come home to me!:)

Susie, thanks for the update. Prayers continue for you to heal completely. So glad they found the blood clots and things have improved in that area. Praying God releases your body from some of this pain.

How exciting to hear about Tink. I love her tenacity!!! :)

Great news about you and Tink! Tink appears to be trying so hard to get better. She can't wait to get back to her mommy. It is so exciting to sign on and hear good news. I know you will be glad to get back home. You are both in our constant thoughts and prayers.

I've been thinking about you going home on Friday (even though it's scary, it is a good thing) and about Tink trying to scoot that little butt around. I was thinking about how bleak everything seemed just a short time ago.

How wonderful Susie. Both the news that you are going home and about Tink's new movement. She WILL walk again and you'll be right beside her with your new knee!!!!!!!!!!!!

Going to your home and sleeping in your own bed will be a little slice of heaven. Don't forget all of those offers of help.

As for little Tink, she is already on her way to walking. Just like a human recovering from any major illness, her little body is becoming like the mantra "I think I can, I think I can, I know I can" Toot toot.

Take care and try not to worry about tomorrow. So glad the clotting was discovered and dissolved. A back massage would be so welcoming and ease the tension.

:( She's in need of a different aproach. I'm glad you're thinking of switching vets. As I read these posts, I have trried to educate myself more about Yorkies. I have to be honest , I like all dogs,but the personalities on these little one are as big a a GREAT DANE!!!! If your vet does'nt know, at least he finally agreeing you need furthur intervention,and sooner than latr. Hang in there. It must be so heartbreaking. I don't like it when anyone I love is sick, but especially a non - speaking baby. Keep us up to date. You need to take care of yourself also.

What? Did Susie say she was looking for another vet? I think either I missed something or you have this post confused with another. I think Tink has gotten wonderful care.

Susie, I am soooooooooo happy for you and Tink. It sounds like you've both come a long way! :) I hope that the improvment continues for both of you.

I think the post was placed in the incorrect forum.

I think maybe that poster was posing after having reaed only a few of the first posts. Many things have happened since then.

Tink is fine today. Talked with Peter and he said she is stable on all fronts and "Moving forward with gusto!" He's so funny. He has agreed to take on Tink as a forever patient. He doesn't have a "practice" since he works at the vet school, but he can treat a certain number of animals - I don't really know how it works. But that makes me happy.

Can't stay long, my back is really giving me fits. The pain is going down my operated leg and making me pretty miserable. I did get my staples out today and the sugeon is well-pleased with my progress. So, that makes me feel good. Still planning to go home Friday morning some time. We meet tomorrow to decide the at-home care I will need. I will have been here two weeks on Saturday so am going home a little shy of two weeks of being here and almost a week at the hospital. So, Teri, that's nearly three weeks post-op by Fri. Not so bad. Seems like a lifetime!

I have a very bad back. I have several things that are challenges with it. I've had three surgeries to keep me mobile and am fused at five levels. It's difficult but I do pretty well. Some times are better than others but God has been with me and keeps me up and going.:) This is the first time in a couple of years that the pain has been unmanageable but we're getting it under control. that's why I go back and forth between the wheelchair and the wheeled walker. But it will be fine. I have confidence.

I didn't get to talk to Tink tonight. Barb and Peter went out to dinner with friends and won't be home 'til late. So, I'm gonna go get into my bed hereat the center and watch some TV and read until I get tired. Tinkerbelle my furbaby - it won't be too much longer and we can spend our days together again.

Suzie -- I am so happy to hear that both you and Tink are recovering. It sounds like Tink is somewhat of a miracle dog. I have been "out of the loop" for the past several weeks, but please know that I carry you and Tink in my heart and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
