| Let's lose weight TOGETHER I wanted to start this thread because I know there are several of us trying to lose a few extra pounds. I thought we could all work to motivate each other, share some success stories, and share some secrets. What do you think?? My goal is to weight 125. I am currently at 145. So 20 lbs for me would be GREAT!!!! I lose a pound here and there...I was at 155 so I have lost 10 lbs in the last 8 months LOL well...that is without really trying. so I know if I actually put some effort into it, I can reach my goal. I still weigh more than I did 9 months pregnant. so that's not cool I am not looking to get to my "pre-pregnancy" weight of 115, but would like to at least be in the range of the "height and weight chart" right now, I am 10 lbs out of it LOL ok...so what I am doing...I am walking a lot. drinking a LOT of water. I am trying to drink at least half of my body weight in ounces. example: i weigh 145, half of my body weight is approx 72, so I need to drink at least 72 ounces of water per day. They say this will help you lose weight faster. I am also cutting out a lot of my sugars. not all of them...but most of them. I am not eating sweets, not drinking soft drinks or sweet tea, etc. I think just cutting out the soft drinks and sweet tea will help me lose a good amount. I am a sucker for some "ghetto tea". LOL so...if you are trying to lose weight...or if you know of some tips or ideas that might help some of us other "losers" out there (said in a funny way, because we are "losing" weight LOL) PLEASE share!! The goal here is to inspire each other and keep each other going in the right direction. So please join in

| I am def in. I want to loose 5 lbs. I am only drinking water. I am going to start back walking. I do 200 crunches a day, and I am looking for a work out to get the fat off my hips. I tried the crunches on the side, but it doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions for that would be great! |

| Count me in! I had my yearly physical last week and my blood work came back not so good. I have been fighting high cholestrol and do not want to go on meds. So I really, finally, got serious with myself and have 3months to get it down or else. I have also been fighting with 12lbs that I so want to get rid of and get back down to 138. I started last Sat. Gave up wine and am reading the fat and cholestrol on everything I put in my mouth. I weighted in at the docs last Thurs at 150.2. God that was high for me. I am, today, down to 146.6 so it is working. I'm on a roll. Let's do it I also started walking on my lunch hours again. Got lazy for awhile and I do love walking. | I'm in. I use one of those large balls to do sit ups on. It works really well, and I have a standing bicycle I use. It would be great to have a place to go for encouragement. Anyone have ideas of how not to eat late at night, or what I can eat that's not really fattening, but is filling.

| Count me in when I get back from vacation in two weeks. I will be drinking water, eating weight watcher meals, and working out. I need to lose about 10 lbs. My Husband has lost about 60 lbs on the weight watchers diet. He is so proud of himself.

if you feel the need to eat...why not eat some fruit? or a bowl of high fiber cereal. something that is not heavy in sugar or carbs I would think would be the way to go. and slowly try to cut out the late night eating all together. the water and milk seems to work for me. if I am feeling super hungry and I know it is all in my head...or it is a bad time to be eating...I down a big helping of water I'm no expert...maybe someone else will have better advice

I eat a protein bar, south beach bars are the ones that I am in love with now I am wanting to get one of those bicycles. My Aunt uses that and she has lost A TON of weight. She lives in Fl, also and she will go do spin classes then get on her bicycle and ride on the beach. | |

| Great thread, Mandee! I am not trying to lose weight so much, but I do want to tone up. I seem to be flabby ever since I had my girls (they are 10 and 7 and I'm still using that as an excuse! ) I think having a buddy system (like on here) or a friend that you walk with, etc. helps a huge amount. You can motivate each other and help hold them accountable. I also think it is a big motivation when you see some results, like when your jeans fit better or when the scale moves down a few pounds! I also think that if you have healthy food around the house it makes a difference. I will always go grab something quick out if I know I don't have anything at home. That's my big problem. I like to eat out and I don't order the healthy foods on the menu when I do. I think a lot of restaurants have been trying to do better with offering healthy foods. I took my girls to Wendy's last night because my husband was at the Braves game and they have turkey and cheese sandwiches on the kids menu with yogurt as a side as well as milk for a drink. (of course, mine didn't order that, but......) Same on the adult menu with salads as sides instead of fries (I didn't order that either, but......). Anyway, can't wait to hear everyone's tips! Love the thread!

| one of the biggest mistakes people make is eating fat free foods or the artificial sweeteners. Splenda is the WORST thing you could use for sweetener. It is made with aspartame and is super bad for you. they say equal is the best...but raw sugar is definitely the way to go. when you take the fat out of foods...you are replacing it with something else...usually artificial...and that is bad. you want to go with natural things...so raw sugar in limited quantities is best. There is a book called "natural cures they dont want you to know about" and it goes into detail about all of the bad things that are circulating our country these days. it's funny, because the book has been out for a while now. and a lot of the stuff is now being made public...even tho I have known about it for a long time. like the growth hormones in meats and dairy products. this is why soy milk is best (although i can't bring myself to drink it). they say that the growth hormones are what is causing young girls to develop so early in life. boobs on a 10 year old is common these days!! my daughter drinks the soy milk. I would rather not take the chances...and she likes it

| I'M IN! I am not super overweight, but I want to get my belly, love handles (HATE HATE HATE THEM), and my thighs smaller, but mostly I WANT MORE MUSCLE! I plan on getting down 16 lbs...to where I think is healthier and good for my height...5'10". Good luck to all...this could be interesting!!! Oh, I go to Curves usually 5 days a week, and the last few days have been doing 75 crunches, 25 each side and 25 regular, and some other little exercises especially for those LOVE HANDLES that I hate....anyone have any other good exercises for those? If I didn't have those, I would be so much more comfortable in a bikini. Anyway, enough rambling. This'll be good for all I think! I'll try to check in with the thread once a day or so! GOOD LUCK and most importantly, work hard
