| I've been on it since Jan. Down 20.6 was at 24.8 but had a really bad week last week...lol I'll make up for it this week. Weight Watcher is great. I dont have the cook books, but I do etools on line and its great. My advice....WATER WATER WATER. This is the key!!!!! (I promise) I find if i get my water in and lots of veggies, I lose more. This program is great, it still allows you to eat everyday foods. Its one you can stick to. If you like Chocolate the weight watcher fudge icecream bars are the best. I never use my active point, (which comes in week 3) i think. Because I figure that defeats the purpose. I take one day a week at one meal and have what I want. I dont go overboard, but I eat what I want at that one meal. That way, if I'm really craving something, I tell myself wait til Thurs. lol I weigh in on Thurs. morning, so if you get one meal that way and get right back on track it doesnt seem to matter. Now you cant eat like crazy that one meal. lol Good Luck...I think You'll love it!!!!!!!!! |

| I have a cookbook I can email you! And a points calculator I can email you to use off of your PC I started after I had my son. Then I stopped. Now I started again. I LOVE IT! I have all kinds of food suggestions too if you want to PM me feel free I stick to the old point calculation though. I tried using the new amount of points that they gave me but there were way too many points and I was not losing. Hostess has some GREAT 100 calorie cupcake 3 packs. YUMMY. Carrot cake is the best! Also if you mix cake mix with a diet soda and nothing else it makes the best cupcakes ever! Last edited by ashley809; 04-03-2007 at 10:15 AM. |

| I absolutely LOVE Weight Watchers! I have been on since Nov 06, I'm down 25.4....4.6 away from my target weight. I LOVE the program...it's the only program out there that truly teaches you how to eat better...with REGULAR food, and it's something that you can do for a lifetime. Journaling was the key for me...as well as water. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the site that helped me ALOT with point values, but you can do a yahoo search for Dottie's Weight Loss Zone....or PM me, and I'll give you the web address. It's REALLY helpful when you have the point values from restaurants....especially people like me that can't cook! There are over 300 restaurants on her site with point values of many of their menu items. Good Luck!!!!!!! |

| I would love anything you want to email me. soneal827@suddenlink.net I did buy the starter kit which has a resteraunt book in it. Do you use the extra 35 points they give you each week in case you still feel hungry? They said they are for anytime you want to use them just can't carry them over every week. Quote:

| It was SOOOOOOO helpful to me! I generally dont use my 35 extra points for the week. I know that I nibble here and there (a bite of this, a taste of that while cooking) without always counting those points. They add up though, so I use my 35 points to offset my nibbles and tastes! |

| I have been on weight watchers since August 2006. I have lost 49.6 lbs. Woohoo! I have 29 more lbs to go. I agree that it really is the way to go, because they are teaching you what to eat with real food. Nothing is off limits. You just have to decide if the extra points are worth it or not. My friend and I started together and that has really helped. I think we keep each other motivated. We committed one year out of our life for this. We told ourselves at the begining that one year is nothing. Just a drop in the bucket. We are really working on being lifetime members. I can tell you that the 1st 2-3 wks was the worst for me. I was hungry all the time. I finally learned somethings to keep the hunger at bay: 1. Always eat a protein with a carborhydrate (cheese and crackers, yogurt and cereal, cheese and fruit, peanut butter and crackers, ect..) 2. Eat mini meals. I eat meals (except for dinner) that are between 2 - 4 points. I eat about every 2 hours. during a meal, I have to remind myself that the portion may be small, but I get to eat again in 2 hours. 3. I have Saturday as a "free day". I don't go over board, but I do eat what I want (pretty much) I will limit some real fattening foods, but if I want a glass of wine or a dessert, I will allow myself that. (Keeps me feeling from deprived) 4. Try to excerise 4 x week. (I bought a threadmill) 5. If I overindulge, I never beat myself up, I erase that day (figuratively) and start up again where I left off. 6. our motto "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels"! 7. Force yourself to eat all your veggies and fruit. I highly recommend the Weight Watcher cookbooks. It really helped me learn how to cook again. I also worked on building a whole new repetoire of menus (since all the old ones were fattening). Now that I have new favorites I will cook those again and again. If you are: The New Complete Cookbook - 3 Ring Binder. This has replaced my Betty Crocker Cookbook Weight Watchers Simply the Best - this one is full of comfort food type recipes Weight Watcher Meals in Minutes - And this really is very quick delicous meals. I can also tell you that I have not made a recipe yet that was not really quite good. My husband did not like all of them, but it's more a preference of food rather than the dish not being good. I have plenty more tips if you need them.

| What valuable info, thanks. I just received the Weight watchers complete cookbook from Double Day. I plan on buying a few more. Do you weigh food often? I am wondering if I need scales for weighing food. Also I seen a electronic point counter on Ebay, that seems useful, do you use one? Now I just have the slider card. Any info you think I coulod use I sure appreciate. And way to go on your weight loss!! Quote:

| Yes, I would get a scale to weigh your food. It really helps to learn portion sizes to be able to count points accurately! I got a cheap postal scale from Office Depot - about $15 and it really helped me to learn portion sizes. Sometimes portions on packages are measured in grams. A postal scale can be set to ounces or grams and this will really be helpful. I lost 35 pounds on WW and I basically stay on it most of the time - meaning I usually always "count points" and when I don't is when my weight begins to creep up! Good luck!
